A method and a device for automatic triggering of deceleration of a vehicle for preventing a collision, which is accomplished by the fact that a variable, which represents a probability of collision with another vehicle, must exceed a predefinable threshold value, and the threshold value is variable as a function of the driver's response, the current driving situation, or the ambient situation. To determine the change in the threshold value, signals from a steering angle sensor, a brake pedal sensor, an accelerator pedal sensor, a device for determining the speed of the vehicle, a device for determining the uphill or downhill slope of the road, a device for determining the vehicle yaw rate, a device for determining the vehicle float angle or a device for detecting stationary and moving objects in the vicinity of the vehicle, in particular in the area in front of the vehicle, are analyzed.

Method and device for automatically triggering a vehicle deceleration

In a method and a device for predicting movement trajectories of a vehicle to prevent or reduce the consequences of an imminent collision, in which for predicting the movement trajectories, only those trajectories are considered for which, because of a combination of steering intervention and braking intervention, the forces occurring at the wheels of the vehicle are within the range corresponding to the maximum force transferable from the wheel to the road. Method and device for automatically triggering a deceleration in a motor vehicle

A method and a device for controlling deceleration devices of a vehicle during a braking operation, e.g., a vehicle which is equipped with a sensor for adaptive cruise control. During the braking operation, risk dimensions are determined on the basis of driving dynamics models, which are individualized by signals of the surrounding-field sensor system. A first risk dimension is precalculated for the case of continued deceleration and a second risk dimension is precalculated for the case of unbraked further movement of the vehicle. Through the comparison of the two risk dimensions, it is decided whether the automatic vehicle deceleration is to be maintained or whether the braking is to be canceled before the vehicle is brought to a standstill.

A method and a device for triggering and implementing a deceleration of a vehicle to avoid a collision, in which, using a device for adaptive cruise control, objects in the sensor detection range are detected and measured variables are determined for each detected object.
