A vehicle roof glass element having an exterior glass pane and a transparent insulating layer foamed on the inside onto the glass pane has an externally circumferential rim the runner points and the ventilation points of which are provided on the inside of the glass pane. Furthermore, a method and a tool for manufacturing a vehicle roof glass element are described.

A roof module for a motor vehicle comprises an RTM frame and a Class-A covering layer, which at least partially covers the frame and is made of polyurethane. A method for manufacturing a roof module comprises the following steps: Initially, a fiber mat is put into a first mold. Then, a reactive resin system is introduced into the closed mold and the resin cures, so that a blank is formed. The blank is put into a second mold, into which subsequently polyurethane is introduced in the open condition. The polyurethane expands, wherein it at least partially forms a Class-A surface.

A sunroof system for a motor vehicle includes two guide rails at least approximately parallel to one another and a slide in each guide rail. The slide is displaceable in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A front opening mechanism and a rear opening mechanism are assigned to a front edge and a rear edge, respectively, of a cover of the sunroof system. The front opening mechanism has a transmission lever and the rear opening mechanism has an opening lever. The slide, when displaced rearwards along the guide rail, is first coupled to the rear opening mechanism and then to the front opening mechanism.

A guiding system for a moveable sunroof system includes at least one first guide rail for a first vehicular component and at least one second guide rail for a second vehicular component. The first and second guide rails are connected with each other and are tailored to their unique load requirements by employing materials having different properties. Further, the guide rails can be modified independently from one another. If, for instance, the geometry of the second guide rail has requires modification, it is not necessary to modify the entire guiding system. Instead, it is sufficient to modify only the second guide rail to the new requirements. Therefore, portions of the guide rail system may easily be replaced.

A roof component, in particular an inner liner for a vehicle roof, comprises a carrier layer which consists of a cured material, and a mounting structure. The mounting structure is formed by at least one undercut. There is further proposed a method of producing such a roof component, comprising the following steps: first, a forming tool is provided which consists of a first and a second tool part, an elastically deformable body provided on the first tool part being capable of being deformed between an initial position in which it is extended in a direction perpendicular to a general direction of extension of the roof component, and a working position in which it forms at least one protrusion which extends in parallelism to the general direction of extension of the roof component and at a distance from the first tool part; next, a curable material is introduced into the forming tool, the curable material curing to form the carrier layer while the deformable body is in the working position, such that the protrusion formed by the body is imparted to the carrier layer so as to form an undercut; subsequently, the forming tool is opened and the deformable body is transferred to the initial position, so that it frees the undercut in the carrier layer; finally, the roof component is taken out of the forming tool.

A roof assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a rim portion that guides a roof module towards an opening for a sliding roof cover. The rim portion has a water groove formed integrally with the roof module. In addition, the roof module may have an integrally formed spoiler adjacent the water groove.
