A locking element and a corresponding housing are disclosed, for the locking of the locking element in housing. The locking element includes a locking piece, for example a head, with a peripheral outer surface, running essentially in the direction of a longitudinal axis with at least one clamping surface extending outwards from the longitudinal axis in the form of a wedge, in order to lock the locking piece on the locking element with a corresponding inner contour of the housing. The peripheral outer surface is at least approximately spherical, parabolic, elliptical or hyperbolic in embodiment, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis in the region of the clamping surface, which is also true for the inner contour of the housing in the region of the recess, whereby the recess cooperating with the clamping surface can also be cylindrical.

A bone plate has at least one plate hole whose hole axis runs obliquely in relation to the underside of the plate. The hole axis has an elevation angle (&#x3b5;) in relation to the plane of the underside of the plate which is different from 90&#xb0;, and in which plate the upper face of the plate runs at least partially not parallel to the underside of the plate, at least in the area around the plate hole, but instead runs at a right angle to the hole axis. The plate hole is designed such that a bone screw, which is screwed into the plate hole, can be blocked in the plate hole at an angle selected from a predefined angle range around the elevation angle (&#x3b5;) of the hole axis of the plate hole only by cooperation of the plate hole with the bone screw, without other additional auxiliary means.

A dental splint for fixing a tooth with increased mobility, which dental splint has several eyes, adjacent eyes being interconnected via a flat connection, and the individual eyes each having a through-opening which is surrounded by a link so that it is possible, by way of the through-opening, to apply an adhesive to the tooth located behind the respective through-opening to secure the dental splint on the tooth, wherein the through-opening of the eye is substantially diamond-shaped, and wherein the flat connection between the eyes is at least approximately twice as wide as the link which surrounds the through-openings.

An osteosynthetic bone plate has elongated compression cavities containing eccentric countersinks. The plate includes a longitudinal axis, a transverse axis, a plate upper side, and a plate lower side for facing bone fragments. The bone plate also includes a compression element with two plate braces which run substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. Both plate braces are linked together by bridging struts which intersect the longitudinal axis. A plate brace has an eyelet on at least one of the outer sides of the compression element. Additional eyelets can be positioned in front of this eyelet. A compression cavity is situated in each of said eyelets and a connecting strut, which intersects the transverse axis, extends between the eyelets which are located on each plate brace.

Osteosynthetic bone plate

The blockable bone plate consists of a plurality of plate members which are connected to each other via webs. A screw hole is provided in at least some plate members, preferably in each plate member. The screw hole is surrounded by a spherical countersink on the upper surface of the plate. Provided internally in the screw hole there is an engagement contour which consists of contour valleys and contour peaks partially running in a horizontal and radial peripheral direction on the wall of the screw hole. The engagement contour is preferably produced by milling and has for example a pointed, round, trapezoidal or serrated configuration. A blocking thread is provided under the screw head of the screw intended for blocking. As the screw is screwed in, the blocking thread engages in the engagement contour. The particular advantages lie in increased security against the screw coming loose and in the possibility of also inserting the screw through the plate at an inclination. Furthermore, a bone plate is proposed which has the shape of an arc of a circle in the longitudinal axis of the plate and which requires less bending, particularly on the human lower jaw, and adapts to the bone in a more ideal manner.

A cutting pliers for cutting implant plates features two handgrips (10) joined via a hand-grip pivot (11), which handgrips actuate by way of leverage pivots (14) a pliers holding jaw (15) and a pliers punching jaw (16). Formed on the pliers holding jaw (15) are holding pins (19, 20, 21) adapted for entering matching recesses of the implant plates being cut. A cutting device (18) is fashioned on the pliers punching jaw (16). Implant plates of different implant systems, with half-round, burrless cuts, can be cut with said cutting pliers.

The present invention involves screwdriver having a grip, a driver blade insertable into and rotationally affixed to said grip and a chuck. The chuck encloses and is longitudinally displaceable relative to the driver blade. The chuck has collets extending from an end disposed near the blade tip. The collets have claws extending from their free ends which are adapted to retain a screw on the blade tip when the chuck is in a retaining position. The collets may be either inwardly biased or outwardly biased. A sleeve, for pressing the collets inward, is provided for embodiments employing outwardly biased collets. A stop device is provided for inhibiting the longitudinal displacement of the chuck towards the blade tip beyond the retaining position. The stop device comprises a groove in the blade shaft and a cooperating detent spring located on the chuck. The free end of the detent spring extends toward the blade tip and is biased inward so that it is disposed within the groove. When the chuck is in the retaining position the detent spring bears against a stop face of the groove thereby inhibiting further longitudinal displacement of the chuck relative to the blade.
