A retractable stairway assembly for entering and exiting a vehicle with a cab has a stairway with steps. The stairway assembly is movable between a retracted position, in which the stairway is beneath the cab, and an extended position, in which the stairway is exposed to allow entering and exiting of the vehicle. The stairway assembly also has a panel that substantially hides the stairway when in the retracted position. An actuator moves the stairway assembly between the retracted and extended positions in response to closing and opening the door.

A combination table and storage unit for use in a truck cab having a base, a substantially planar table, a table storage receptacle coupled to the base providing a sleeve for receiving the table, and a table support. The table support is positionable against one side of the table to allow it to be placed conveniently in the sleeve, yet when needed for support is swung to a position at a substantial angle relative to the table. The unit further includes a removable storage unit which may be releasably attached to the base with defined compartments therein for holding materials needed by the truck operator.

An aerodynamic fairing, made of a plastic material, for the outer laterally disposed longitudinally extending members, i.e., rocker panels, of bodies for passenger cars and utility-type motor vehicles, which, in conjunction with the outer wall of the longitudinal members, form a closed hollow body; in order to be able to extend a fairing of this type as far in the downward direction as is necessary for aerodynamic reasons, yet minimize the risk of damage to the fairing, the construction according to the present invention is such that the fairing comprises an upper zone, made of a plastic material which is comparatively dimensionally stable or form-rigid, and of a lower zone which can be elastically deformed and which is fastened to the upper zone in a preferably detachable manner, and in that the lower zone enables a reduction in its height in the event of contact with the ground by including predetermined flexing points or intentional bending places which facilitate such a height reduction.
