The invention relates to a method for determining and presenting an optimized arrangement and assembly of a measurement system of process measurement technology, especially of a radiometric measurement system, at a container or pipe, in which measurement system at least one characterizing parameter of a medium contained in the container or pipe is to be measured. The method proceeds with the aid of at least a first electronic computer () and a second electronic computer () connected therewith and containing a display- (), a processor-controlled, data processing- () and an input-device (), wherein container- or pipe-specific data and information on medium and on expected measurement range are taken into consideration. The method establishes therefrom an optimized arrangement of the measurement system at or on the container or pipe and presents this arrangement in a sketch. The invention produces at greatest possible speeds the optimized design of the measurement system, also respecting safety aspects, and this in direct contact between a customer and a manufacturer of such a measurement system, or a project planer.

Method for determining and representing an optimal arrangement and installation of a radiometric measuring system

The invention relates to a device for determining and/or monitoring the density and/or the level (L) of a filling material in a container. A transmitting unit which emits radioactive radiation and a receiving unit which is arranged in such a way that it receives the radioactive radiation or the secondary radiation that is produced by the interaction of the radioactive radiation with the filling material are provided. A regulating/evaluating unit which determines the density and/or the level of the filling material in the container using the measuring data that is supplied by the receiving unit is also provided. The aim of the invention is to provide a device which enables the level or the density of a filling material in a container to be measured reliably. To this end, the receiving unit consists of individual detector units. These detector units are positioned at different distances from the floor of the container, so that each detector unit directly or indirectly, essentially detects the proportion of radiation that passes.

Device for determining and/or monitoring the density and/or the level of a filling material in a container

A level measurement device for measuring the level of material inside of a vessel which includes a conductive element, a signal generating unit, and a receiving unit. The conductive element does not come into direct contact with the material being measured. The signal generating unit generates measurement signals which are transmitted along the conductive element. Each of the measurement signals produces an electromagnetic field which travels along the conductive element and is reflected when it reaches the surface of material in the vessel. The reflected electromagnetic field produces an echo signal which travels along said conductive element to the receiving unit. The receiving unit receives the echo signal and determines the level of material in the vessel. The conductive element can be located outside of the vessel. The level measurement device can also include a protective shield which substantially surrounds the sides of the conductive element to prevent interfering radiation from interfering with the signals transmitted and reflected along the conductive element.

Device for measuring the material level in a vessel

The present invention relates to a device for measuring the filling level of a filing material in a container, having a sensor and a control/evaluation unit. The invention provides a device which permits optimized determination of the filling level and/or the monitoring of the filling level in a container. For this purpose a sensor is designed such that it is operated in conjunction with at least two different measurement methods and/or the sensor is operated in at least two different operating modes, that the control/evaluation unit operates the sensor respectively according to at least one of the two measurement methods and/or at least in one of the two operating modes, and that the control/evaluation unit determines the filling level of the filling material in the container with the aid of the measured data of the sensor, which are supplied via at least one measurement method and/or during at least one operating mode.

Device for measuring the filling level of a filling material in a container

A liquid level meter is provided for measuring a level of a liquid (,) in a container (,), which meter measures acceptably in the case of liquids with low dielectric constants, and the installation and maintenance of which are simple and cost effective. This meter comprises an electronic circuit (,), which generates electromagnetic signals in operation, a conductor (,), which projects into the container (,), along which a float (,) moves along with the level, which has at least one segment reflecting electromagnetic signals, an injector (,), which transmits the signals from the circuit (,) to the conductor (,), which conductor (,) leads the signals into the container (,) and leads out a signal reflected at the float (,) and a receiving and evaluating circuit (,), which receives the reflected signals, which determines a travel time of the signals and which ascertains the level from the travel time.

Liquid level meter

The instant invention relates to a method to compensate for extraneous radiation caused by the effects of intermittent active radiation sources (not effects due to cosmic or terrestrial radiation) that can cause errors in radiation measured values. For the purposes of suppressing these extraneous radiation effects in radio-active measuring methods, the commencement and termination of the extraneous radiation and the attainment of a stable condition in the extraneous radiation are determined. The difference between the measured value (before commencement of the extraneous radiation) and the measured value (on attainment of the stable condition) is determined. The measured value is then reduced by the determined difference for the duration of the extraneous radiation. Since the determined difference corresponds to the change in the measured result brought about by the extraneous radiation, the resultant measured value obtained by this reduction, equals the measured value that would be obtained in the absence of the extraneous radiation.
