Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for modifying a radio capability. One method includes determining that an update of a radio access capability for a first radio access technology is required based at least in part on whether to use a second radio access technology. The method includes switching to an idle state based on determining that the update of the radio access capability for the first radio access technology is required and transmitting a request message indicating that the update of the radio access capability for the first radio access technology is required in response to switching to the idle state, the request message further indicating to delete a stored radio access capability associated with the UE and obtain a new radio access capability associated with the UE.

The invention relates to an improved semi-persistent resource allocation for a mobile terminal (MT) for transmitting periodic data. The MT transmits information on the periodic data to the radio base station (BS), such that the BS determines the different possible transmission periodicities and/or the different possible message sizes of the data components of the periodic data. The MT receives from the BS plural semi-persistent resource (SPS) configurations, each being usable to transmit at least one of the supported data components. The MT indicates to the BS the data components that are to be transmitted by the MT. The MT receives from the BS an activation command to activate one or more of the SPS configurations to periodically allocate radio resources for the MT to transmit each of the indicated data components. The MT then transmits the one or more data components based on the radio resources and the transmission periodicity as configured by the activated one or more SPS configurations.

One apparatus includes a memory coupled to a processor, where the processor is configured to cause the second apparatus to receive a SL grant for a SL transmission using SL resources, the SL grant indicating a first HARQ process identified by a first HARQ process identifier, and to select a second SL HARQ process identified by a second SL HARQ process identifier for the SL transmission using the SL resources. The processor is configured to cause the second apparatus to transmit SCI containing the second SL HARQ process identifier and to perform the SL transmission using the SL resources.

A communication method includes transmitting resource assignment information including bits that indicate activation or deactivation statuses of respective downlink component carriers, which are secondary downlink component carriers added to a primary component carrier which is always activated, each of the downlink component carriers corresponding to one bit included in bits, and the one bit indicating that a corresponding downlink component carrier is to be activated or deactivated. A method allocates radio resources for a transmitting user equipment (UE) to perform direct communication transmissions over a direct sidelink connection to one or more receiving UEs. At least two sidelink grant processes are provided in the transmitting UE for the transmitting UE to handle at least two sidelink grants within the same transmission control period. Each one of the sidelink grant processes is associated with an identification and can be associated with one sidelink grant. The transmitting UE acquires at least two sidelink grants and associates each of the acquired sidelink grants with one sidelink grant process. For each sidelink grant, the transmitting UE allocates radio resources according to the respective sidelink grant to perform a direct communication transmission of sidelink control information and of data over the direct sidelink connection.
