Pallet container for the transport of temperature-sensitive products

The invention relates to a method for preparing a transport container which has an accommodation space for goods to be transported, said accommodation space being insulated by external thermal insulation. At an equipment site, the accommodation space is equipped with preconditioned, main latent heat storage elements necessary for a target heat capacity. In addition to the preconditioned, main latent heat storage elements, the accommodation space is also equipped with further thermal energy storage elements, the auxiliary energy storage elements, which are preconditioned to a specified temperature. This means that a longer transfer time period can be allowed after equipping and before filling the accommodation space with the goods to be transported, such that, from the filling time, the full target time period within the desired target temperature range is available for transporting the goods to be transported.

Method for preparing a transport container

A box-type transport container has a box-type outer container with a base, four side walls and at least one lid. The lid is hinged on a side wall. Sheet-type vacuum insulation panels are arranged in the outer container to cover the surface of the side walls. At least one carrying opening, which can be gripped by hand in order to carry the transport box, is provided in each of two opposing, side walls. The material of the side wall is weakened above and to the side of the carrying opening, such that the material can be easily separated from the surrounding material of the side wall and together with the carrying opening can be folded out of the side wall. Alternatively, the vacuum insulation panels of the side wall are secured in their relative positions by at least one peripheral tensioning means.

Box-type transport container

A transport-container system has at least one container with a base, a casing and a top, and having inner-wall elements, which are arranged on the inner surfaces of the walls of the container and can be removed from the container and inserted into the container. Each inner-wall element has predetermined dimensions matching those of the associated inner surface of the container. At least as far as some of the inner-wall elements are concerned, the transport-container system has a number of embodiments with at least substantially the same dimensions, wherein it is possible to insert optionally one of the embodiments of inner-wall elements at the position in the container which is envisaged for the relevant inner-wall element. A method is for providing a container of a transport-container system with correspondingly different embodiments of inner-wall elements.

Transport container system and method

A transport container has an outer container with a bottom, two sets of side walls and at least one lid. Vacuum insulation panels are arranged on the inside of the outer container, at least on the side walls. First vacuum insulation panels on first side walls which are located opposite one another, abut at the edges against inside surfaces of second vacuum insulation panels on second side walls, which are located opposite one another and on the bottom. The first vacuum insulation panels are realized as planar rectangular-shaped vacuum insulation panels with a thickness D. The second vacuum panels are realized as panels with a sealing edge that comprises a certain residual width B. The thickness D is greater than the residual width B. The edges of the first vacuum insulation panels cover the sealing edges of the second vacuum insulation panels and otherwise abut against adjoining planar surfaces of the second vacuum insulation panels.

A method is for producing a vacuum insulating body (vacuum insulation panel; VIP) made of a vacuum-tight foil or foil connection and a flat filter material, in particular a single-layer or multi-layer non-woven material, which is air-permeable but is not permeable for a powdered filling material.

A process is for the pre-conditioning of one or more latent heat storage elements in the case of which the temperature or the narrow temperature range of the phase transition defines a target temperature and the latent heat storage elements are heated up to the target temperature. The latent heat, storage elements are cooled to an initial temperature below the target temperature and this initial temperature is determined. The latent heat storage elements at the initial temperature are introduced into a thermally insulated container and the container is then closed. The interior of the closed container is, or has been, connected to a heating device of which the thermal output which takes effect in the interior of the closed container is known. The initial temperature of the latent heat storage elements, the thermal capacity of the latent heat storage elements located in the container and also the target temperature of the latent heat storage elements are used to calculate the quantity of heat which has to be fed to the interior of the container in order for the latent heat storage elements to reach the target temperature (desired quantity of heat). The heating device is switched on and is operated continuously, or at intervals, until the desired quantity of heat has been fed to the interior of the dosed container.

Method and apparatus for the pre-conditioning of latent heat storage elements

A transport container is made of a trough-like lower part which is open towards the top and an upper part which is arranged on the lower part and closes the open upper side of the lower part. The upper part can be removed or pivoted in order to open the lower part, and the lower part and the upper part preferably consist of a dimensionally stable plastic material. The lower part has a base, longitudinal walls, and transverse walls, and the upper part correspondingly has a cover, longitudinal faces, and transverse faces. The lower part has transversally running flat recessed package-band cutouts at least on the longitudinal walls and preferably on the base as well, and the upper part has transversally running flat recessed package-band cutouts at least on the longitudinal faces and preferably on the lid as well, the recesses being flush with one another and facing one another.

Transport container for transport-sensitive goods

A method is for preconditioning at least one latent heat storage element, which is arranged in a thermally insulated, closed container having a space for accommodating goods to be transported. The latent heat storage element has a target temperature preferably slightly in excess of 0 DEG C. In such an arrangement, it is particularly practical for the accommodation space in the container to be filled with a certain amount of a coolant, particularly ice, and for the container to be closed, and therefore the latent heat storage element located in the container is cooled to the target temperature.

Particulate, expandable styrene polymers capable of being processed into hard foamed plastic materials of a small density and containing, therefore, at least one foaming agent comprise at least aluminum in a particulate form for improving their thermal insulation properties. The styrene polymer particles comprise, after their expansion, a fine cell structure and contain the aluminum particles incorporated in a homogeneous distribution as an infrared ray reflecting material. The main proportion of these aluminum particles has the shape of platelets having a size between 1 and 15 &mgr;m. Styrene polymer particles produced in this manner can be foamed into plastic materials of foamed polystyrene particles which have a density of 30 g/l in maximum and improved heat insulation characteristics.
