An arrangement for coupling two components of an internal combustion engine that are arranged movable relative to each other is provided, in particular, for switching multi-stage valve drives, with at least one coupling element () arranged to be movable in one of the components for coupling with the other component to be coupled. Here, at the contact point between the coupling element () and the component to be coupled, a force acting on the coupling element () during coupling is introduced at an angle relative to the coupling direction () of the coupling element ().

A switchable finger lever for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine having an interior lever encompassed by arms of an exterior lever, with a joint axle extending through the levers so they are relatively pivotal. A stub projects from the axle at each exterior side, with the respective stub being encompassed by a coil section of a pivot pin spring, having one leg acting upon the exterior lever and another leg acting upon the interior lever to pre-load the levers relative to each other, with the coil section encompassing a bush encasing an exterior casing of the stub. The bush encompasses the stub with a clearance fit and, for fixation of the axle, an annular groove with a safety ring is located inside the bush bore, and engages a radially inwardly located groove in the exterior casing of the stub allowing the axle to be disassembled without destruction.

Switchable finger lever

A switchable finger lever for a valve train of an internal combustion engine is provided, with the finger lever having an inner lever which cooperates at a valve-side end region with a gas exchange valve of the internal combustion engine and is connected at a support-side end region turned away from the valve-side end region pivotally to a support. Outer levers () connected pivotally to the inner lever are arranged on both sides of the inner lever while being urged against the inner lever in a pivoting direction through a spring and being capable of being coupled to the inner lever through a coupling element. The outer levers () are configured with an identical structure and each outer lever () is configured symmetrically to the longitudinal lever axis ().

A coupling device () of a switchable cam follower (), in which a borehole () extends above a contact () for a support element in an outer lever () of the cam follower (), and this borehole has a first section () of large diameter that starts from an outer side () of a crosspiece () on the other end () to which connects to a second section () of accordingly smaller diameter up to directly before an inner side () of the crosspiece (). A smooth cylindrical coupling slide () is guided in a sealing manner through the second section (), and this coupling slide projects with a sub-region () into the first section (). This sub-region () is encompassed by a compression spring () that acts, on one end, against an annular end () formed between the sections () and, on the other end, against a catch element () arranged on the lateral surface () of the sub-region (). The first section () is closed by a thin-walled plug (), such that a pressure space () for hydraulic medium is located axially between the annular end () of the borehole () and an inner side () of the plug (), and for a coupled case, the coupling slide () can be brought into contact by hydraulic medium that can be guided into the pressure space () before its outer end () with a sub-region () extending on its inner end () with a catch surface () of a cross region () of the inner lever () and, for a decoupled case, the coupling slide () can be displaced in the direction toward the plug () such that it is out of contact from the catch surface () for a switched-off/reduced hydraulic medium pressure via the compression spring ().
