A ventilation cap () for a motor vehicle roof () for ventilation of the motor vehicle interior () and a roof with such a ventilation cap, in which the ventilation cap () is formed to be oblong having an air duct with a front air opening () and with a rear air opening () which discharge above the motor vehicle roof (), the air duct being flow-connected to the motor vehicle interior () via a flow path which is formed in the ventilation cap (). The motor vehicle roof () is formed preferably as a glass roof with at least two glass surfaces (), on which the ventilation cap () is mounted essentially a central longitudinal axis.

A process for adjusting a motor vehicle part between at least two positions and a drive device for executing this process. The motor vehicle part is driven by an electric motor. A pulse signal is generated according to the rotary motion of the electric motor ( ) and is supplied to a control unit ( ) for controlling the electric motor ( ). The instant of input of each signal on the control unit ( ) is acquired and between two such input instants at certain extrapolation instants from at least some of these measured instants the current force acting on the motor vehicle part is estimated, this estimate being used as the criterion in the decision whether the electric motor ( ) is turned off or reversed or not.

The invention relates to a process for adjusting a motor vehicle part between at least two positions and a drive device for executing this process. The motor vehicle part is driven by an electric motor, and a pulse signal is generated according to the rotary motion of the electric motor which is supplied to a control unit for controlling the electric motor, in which at certain instants the value for the current force acting on the motor vehicle part is determined from the pulse signal. Furthermore, at certain instants, a respective for the change of motor rpm is determined from at least some of these previously measured instants, from each value of the rpm change a force change value (&Dgr;F*&lsqb;k&rsqb;) is computed and at least some of the previously determined values of the force change are added up with weighting in order to determine the value for the instantaneous force acting on the moveable motor vehicle part. This value is used as the criterion in deciding whether or not the electric motor ( ) is turned off or reversed. In the computation of the values of the force change, for each value of the rpm change which exceeds an upper threshold, the value of this upper threshold is used instead of the value of the rpm change.

In a method for measuring a distance between a conducting reaction track and a functional surface moving relative to the reaction track a sensor with two signal transmitters is provided on the functional surface. An alternating field is generated in the sensor. The alternating field changes as a function of the distance between the conducting reaction track and the functional surface. Each of the two signal transmitters detects the changes of the alternating field as distance information. Each signal transmitter produces decoupled distance information values. These decoupled distance information values are processed in separate distance measuring channels to provide processed signals. The processed signals are constantly fed to and compared in a comparator. A distance information signal is emitted only when the processed signals of the separate distance measuring channels are identical within a predetermined tolerance range.
