A device and a method that can be used to perform a correspondence analysis in image data in a particularly low-noise and efficient manner. The device and method include selecting image patches from individual images and generating a plurality of one-dimensional signals using even and odd convolution kernels in the spatial window in each case, and processing differences between the convolution results in a non-linear manner and accumulating these differences to form a correspondence function and evaluating this function.

Device and method for correspondence analysis in images

A device and process for determining sizes of particles of a particle stream. A first optical measuring system with a first dot matrix sensor and a lighting device, which transilluminates the measuring volume are provided. The first dot matrix sensor and the lighting device form a transmitted-light arrangement. The computing device determines projection areas of particles within the transilluminated measuring volume from the image data of the first dot matrix sensor. The optical measuring arrangement includes a second optical measuring system with a second dot matrix sensor for detecting the diffraction pattern of the particles. The computing device determines a size distribution of the particles in the measuring volume based on the projection areas and the diffraction pattern. The computing device forms the size distribution from particle sizes determined on the basis of the projection areas and from particle sizes determined on the basis of the diffraction pattern.

The invention relates to an image processing apparatus by means of which an image identification can take place in real time and which, with only very little or even no a priori information, is capable of carrying out a pertinent and reliable identification of objects. To this end, the connection probabilities are determined between two contour points in each case, taking into account the distance between the points, by means of a computation mechanism. Further provided is at least one classifier, which takes sets of calculated connection probabilities and selects from them subsets with at least three connection probabilities for possible links between at least three adjacent contour points, one of which is a previously determined central contour point, and, for each subset, sorts out that contour point which is adjacent to the central contour point and which has a possible link with the lowest connection probability to an adjacent contour point, provided that the link does not connect two points that are adjacent to the central point, and subsequently enters the contour points that have not been sorted out in a contour point list with connectors that identify the remaining links to the central point.

The invention relates to an image processing system for omnidirectional reading of optical patterns, for example of one-dimensional and two-dimensional codes. One object is to provide an image processing system which ensures high resolution with rapid processing at the same time in order, in particular, to allow processing in video real time and to provide reliable identification of the image information, in particular reliable and low-error edge detection, segmentation and object association. According to the invention, this is achieved by the use of a plurality of convolvers, which operate in parallel and/or using the time-division multiplexing method, for convolution of the digital image data, of a neighborhood processor () for reading and linking contour points (), and/or of a statistical processor for reading a segment list.
