Twin-wire former for producing a fibrous web. The former includes two endless wire belts arranged to form a twin-wire zone, a dewatering element, and a headbox positioned at an angle relative to an imaginary first horizontal plane. The twin-wire zone includes a first section in which the two wire belts are arranged to run over the dewatering element. The two wire belts are further positioned to form a wedge-like inlet gap that is structured and arranged to receive a fibrous stock suspension directly from the headbox. Additional dewatering elements are utilized. The twin-wire zone includes a second section in which the two wire belts along with the fibrous web formed between the two wire belts are arranged to run downward over the additional dewatering elements. Headbox of a paper machine and a process of supplying a material suspension, The headbox includes at least one material suspension supplying system, and a headbox nozzle that includes a first dividing wall having a machine width and a second dividing wall having a machine width. The first and second dividing walls are arranged to form a first path in which a total nozzle cross-section steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction and to form a second path, arranged to follow the first path, in which a total nozzle cross-section continually increases in the material flow direction. The process includes includes accelerating the material suspension along a first path having a total nozzle cross-section that steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction, and decelerating the material suspension along a second path having a total nozzle cross-section that continually increases in the material flow direction. The second path is arranged to follow the first path.

Headbox and process for supplying a material suspension

Dewatering device and process of a machine for at least one of production and processing of a material web, as well as a glazing device an process. The dewatering device includes a circulating flexible continuous belt and an opposite surface. The circulating flexible continuous belt and the opposite surface are arranged to form a nip elongated in a web travel direction, and at least one screen is adapted to guide the material web through the nip. A saddle, which is arranged to support the circulating flexible continuous belt, is segmented in the web travel direction into saddle segments connected to each other. The saddle segments are at least partially separately pressurized. The dewatering process includes guiding the material web through the nip, and at least partially separately pressurizing the saddle segments against the opposite surface. The glazing device includes a heated roller composed of a saddle roller and a mating roller, and the heated roller and the mating roller are arranged to form a nip elongated in a web travel direction. The saddle roller may include a flexible roller jacket supported by a saddle which is segmented in the web travel direction into saddle segments connected to each other. The saddle segments are at least partially separately pressurized. The glazing process includes guiding the material web through the nip, and at least partially separately pressurizing the saddle segments against the mating roller.

A method and machine for the manufacturing a fibrous pulp web including a first draining zone and a second draining zone, where the first and second draining zones are successively arranged in the web run direction, where a first side of the web is drained in the first draining zone by pressure acting on the web which increases from an initial pressure to a final pressure, where a second side of the web is drained in the second draining zone by pressure acting on the web which increases from an initial pressure to a final pressure in the web run direction, and where the initial pressure in the second draining zone is less than the final pressure in the first draining zone.

Method and machine for manufacturing a fibrous pulp web

Process for dewatering a fibrous web in a dewatering press including a counterpart face, a shoe press unit having a revolving flexible press belt and at least one press shoe such that the at least one press shoe is arranged to press the flexible press belt against the counterpart face, at least one nip formed by the flexible press belt being pressed against the counterpart face having a length extending in a web travel direction and being at least substantially similar to a length of the at least one press shoe in the web travel direction, and a device that guides the fibrous web and at least one dewatering belt being guided through the extended nip. The process may include pressing the fibrous web within the extended nip, determining a dwell time of the fibrous web within the extended nip, and maintaining the dwell time at less than approximately 12 ms. The dewatering press may include a counterpart face and a shoe press unit that includes a revolving flexible press belt and at least one press shoe. The at least one press shoe may be arranged to press the flexible press belt against the counterpart face. At least one nip may be formed by the flexible press belt being pressed against the counterpart face and may have a length extended in a web travel direction. The extended nip length in the web travel direction may be at least substantially similar to a length of the at least one press shoe in the web travel direction, and the fibrous web and at least one dewatering belt may be guided through the extended nip. The dewatering press may be arranged to provide a dwell time of the fibrous web being within the extended nip of less than approximately 12 ms.

Dewatering press and process

Press section of a machine for producing a fibrous web and process for pressing a fibrous web. The press section may include at least two shoe press units including at least one press shoe and a revolving flexible press belt, a counterpart face, at least two nips having a length extended in a web travel direction and formed by each at least one press shoe pressing the revolving flexible press belt against the counterpart face. A length of the extended nip may be at least substantially the same as a length of the at least press shoe length, measured in the web travel direction, forming the extended nip and at least one of the shoe press units having press shoe length different from the other shoe press units, whereby various extended nip length are formed. The process may include positioning a first of the at least two nips upstream, with respect to the web travel direction, a last of the at least two nips, wherein one of the first and last nips has a nip length greater than the other and applying different pressing forces in the at least two nips such that the one of the first and last nip having a greater length has a lesser pressing force applied.

A process for operating a press section for producing a fibrous material web, with a nip that is elongated in the direction of web travel that includes an inlet zone, a main pressing zone, and an outlet zone, and where a pressure gradient of pressure p exerted in the main pressing zone of the nip is selected as a function of whether the fibrous material web entering in the nip has an average or high dry matter content, on the one hand, or a low dry matter content, on the other hand.

Press device for treating a material web that may includes an impermeable press element having a press face, an opposing element, and a nip formed between the press element and the opposing element. The press device may also include a felt belt that guides the material web through the nip and that is positioned between the material web and the opposing element. The material web may be separated from the press element after leaving the nip because the press element may further include at least one of grooves and holes formed in the press face that close in the nip due to pressing forces to form a smooth surface, and that open after leaving the nip.

A press roller having a stationary carrier and a roll jacket which rotates past the support surface of the stationary carrier. A support element on the carrier, like a shoe, is pressed against the inside circumferential surface of the roll jacket by a pressure space that is beneath and acts upon the support element to press it toward the roller jacket. The support surface is at least partially hydrodynamically lubricated at the support surface of the support element. The support surface has at least one row and perhaps a plurality of rows that extend in the direction of the press roller axis comprised of a plurality of oil feed points which are separated from one another along the roller axis. The oil feed points are supplied at least partially independently of the pressure space. Each oil feed point comprises a throttling bore. One or more distribution channels in the support element deliver oil to the bores or to groups of the bores.

This invention pertains to an elongated gap or extended nip press comprised of two pressing elements whose pressing areas are pressed against each other, wherein each of the press areas is formed of a band-shaped jacket element, with the jacket element moving around carriers and being supported by at least one support element, wherein a change of the length of the press gap or nip and/or of the pressure distribution or pattern in the press gap is accomplished in that the portions of the press elements that form the support surfaces and/or that the support elements of at least one of the pressing elements are displaceable in or against the direction of rotation of the respective jacket element.
