A tank venting device for motor vehicles having a fuel tank, an adsorption filter connected thereto that receives the fuel vapors, an air inlet valve, and a regeneration line to the engine in which an air delivery pump is arranged. A regeneration valve controlled by the engine is provided in the regeneration line before the air delivery pump in order to control the regeneration flow rate.

Tank venting device for motor vehicles

1. A fuel tank (1) having a filler neck (3) closable by a filling flap (2), the volatile fuel components (5) located in free space (4) of the fuel tank (1) being able to be fed into a storage chamber (7) filled with an absorption element (6), including a vent line (8) that connects the free space (4) to the storage chamber (7) and is closable by a valve (9). The filler neck (3), on the side facing away from the fuel tank (1), has a plug fitting (10) with a valve support (11). The valve (9) includes a sealing flap (12), the sealing flap (12) and the filling flap (2) forming components of the valve support (11), each being able to pivot about a shaft (13,14), and, being acted upon by spring tension, each being able to be placed against a valve seat (15,16) in the valve support (11). The sealing flap (12) and the filling flap (2) are mechanically coupled by a driving device (17) and are able to be forced jointly into the open position by inserting a gas hose nozzle (18) through the filling flap (2) into the filler neck (3).

Fuel tank

A magnet armature for an electromagnetically operable valve, having a sealing body which can be brought into engagement with a valve seat to seal against it. The magnet armature has at least one stop buffer made of an elastomeric material arranged on the end of the armature facing away from the sealing body. The stop buffer has a diminishing cross section in the opening direction to achieve a progressive spring characteristic.

Magnet armature

A dispensing nozzle seal that can be inserted into the filler neck of a fuel tank. The nozzle seal has a sealing ring made of elastomeric material with a sealing lip that is configured to sealingly surround with a degree of elastic prestressing a dispensing nozzle that is inserted into the filler neck. The sealing ring is joined to a seal support tapering conically in the direction of the fuel tank. The seal support is constructed in one piece, and is connected frictionally or with form locking to the sealing ring.

An electromagnetic valve particularly suited for use in an internal combustion engine includes a housing, a coil, a magnet armature guided within the coil, and a spring-actuated valve body interacting via a tappet with the magnet armature. The valve body includes a bead disposed on the side of the valve body facing the coil, wherein when the valve is in the completely open state, the bead contacts the coil.

A heating module for a mixture-compressing combustion engine which is arranged between an induction pipe and a cylinder head of the combustion engine. The induction pipe, the heating module and the cylinder head delimit at least one intake port in which at least one electrically heatable heating element is arranged which constitutes a component of the heating module. The heating module is connectable with connecting terminals to an electric current source and the joining surfaces between the induction pipe, the heating module and the cylinder head are sealed by a sealing device. The heating module includes at least one thin plate made of metallic material. A conductor made of electrically conductive material is secured on the plate. The sealing devices are constructed in one piece with the heating module on the side facing the induction pipe and the side facing the cylinder head.

Heating module for a combustion engine

A device for feeding the vapors present in the free space of a fuel tank into the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine wherein the free space and the intake manifold are connected by a line in which an activated carbon container and a stop valve are connected in series, the activated carbon container being connected with the atmosphere by a vent line and the vent line can be closed by a vent line valve. The device further comprises an excess pressure valve and/or a vacuum valve which may be in the same housing as the vent line valve.

A device for the temporary storing and dosed feeding of volatile fuel constituents found in a free space of a tank installation into an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine capable of being charged by a supercharger, comprising a venting line connecting the free space to a storage chamber containing an absorption element, at least one line connecting the storage chamber to the intake manifold, a valve having at least one inlet port, at least two outlet ports, a main valve seat, and an auxiliary valve seat, a first non-return valve allocated to a first outlet port of the at least two outlet ports, and a second non-return valve allocated to a second outlet port of the at least two outlet ports, wherein the first outlet port of the at least two outlet ports communicates with the intake manifold, and the second outlet port of the at least two outlet ports communicates with a low-pressure area of the supercharger.

Device for storing and feeding fuel vapors

A line (3) provided between the head space (11) of the fuel tank (10) and the induction tube (1) of the engine contains an absorption element (9) and can be shut off by a signal-actuated servo valve (8) connected to the outlet from the absorption element. The line (3) is provided with a first sensor (4) preceding the absorption element (9) and detecting gas flows. A vacuum actuator (12) following the servo valve (8) is provided with a second sensor (13) which gives a signal when actuated. The first sensor (4) and the second sensor (13) are connected for carrying signals to a diagnosis block (14) which compares them with the signal (17) actuating the servo valve (8) and uses them for fault diagnosis.

An electromagnetic valve assembly has a main valve seat 32 and an auxiliary valve seat 35 disposed parallel to one another between an inlet opening 30 and an outlet opening 31. The auxiliary valve seat 35 has a smaller opening cross section than valve seat 32. Dimensions and mass of the auxiliary closing element 36 appertaining to the auxiliary valve seat 35 are correspondingly smaller than those of closing element 33 of valve seat 32. It can hence be brought into its open position much faster, which permits reducing the hydraulic stress exerted on the main closing element 33 and increasing the opening speed thereof.

Electromagnetic valve assembly

A fuel dispenser seal to be used in an inlet of a fuel tank having an orifice of a reduced diameter. The seal comprises a sealing ring made of a polymer material which is provided with a sealing lip which can engage with the fuel dispenser. The sealing ring is held in a support body of a basically tube-like shape and in at least a partial section the support body is elastically configured and can be inserted into the inlet through orifice by a reversible diameter reduction. In the inlet it can engage with a projection of the inlet facing in radial direction towards the interior and it can be firmly attached in axial direction.

Fuel dispenser seal

A device for the temporary storing and metered supplying of volatile fuel components present in the free space 22 of a fuel tank system 15 into the intake pipe 1 of a combustion engine 2. The device includes a deaeration pipe 25 which connects the free space 22 with the atmosphere 23 and in which a storage chamber 18 including an absorptive element is disposed. A pipe 20 connects the storage chamber 18 with the intake pipe and can be closed by means of an electromagnetic stop valve 13. An auxiliary valve 21 including a control chamber 14 which can be closed by means of a vacuum controller is disposed between the stop valve 13 and the intake pipe 1. A bypass 4 having an adjustable cross section is provided parallel to the auxiliary valve 21.

A louver for selectively closing flow openings defined therethrough comprising a stationary support grid including a plurality of equidistantly spaced, first rods extending in a first direction to define flow openings therebetween, a movable grid including a plurality of spaced, second rods extending parallel to the first rods and being movable relative to the first rods in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction from a first position in which each of the second rods at least partially overlaps a respective one of the first rods to a second position spaced from said first position by a distance approximately equal to the equidistant spacing between said first rods and a plurality of substantially impermeable, flexible, flat structures each having first and second longitudinal edges and each of which is connected along the entire length of its first edge to one of the first rods and along the entire length of its second edge to a respective second rod that at least partially overlaps said one first rod in the first position. The flat structures have a width that is at least as wide as the width of the equidistant spacing whereby when the second rods are moved to the second position the flat structures close the flow openings.

An apparatus for the temporary storage and controlled feeding of the volatile fuel components situated in the free space of a tank to the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a vent line connecting the free space to the atmosphere. In the vent line there is disposed a storage chamber containing an absorption element, as well as a line connecting the storage chamber to the intake tube, which can be shut off by an electromagnetic check valve. Between the check valve and the intake tube there is disposed an auxiliary valve with a control chamber. The auxiliary valve can be closed by a vacuum actuator in dependence upon the pressure difference between the control chamber and the atmosphere.
