A method for producing a veneered board having a veneer and a carrier board, to provide a veneered board having improved use properties. The method includes: providing a veneer having an upper face and a lower face, applying an additive onto the lower face of the veneer, applying a binder onto the lower face of the veneer, heating the binder, producing a stack of materials to be pressed, having a carrier board and a veneer provided with an additive and a binder on its lower face, wherein the lower face of the veneer lies on the carrier board, pressing the stack of materials to be pressed in order to form a veneered board.

A process for production of wood-base materials from lignocellulosic comminution product is disclosed. The wood-base materials are treated with at least one additive in the course of their production to reduce or diminish the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and, optionally, very volatile organic compounds (VVOCs), in particular terpenes and acids. The treatment is effected with one additive, being a porous carbon, like activated carbon. In another aspect, the present application is directed to the use of porous carbon, in particular, activated carbon, to reduce or diminish the emission of VOC, and optionally, VVOC, to reduce or diminish the emission of terpene and acids and aldehydes. Also, wood-base materials which are obtainable with the process or wood-based materials produced by using the additives mentioned above and which have reduced emission of VOCs, in particular terpenes and acids but also aldehydes are disclosed.

The present invention relates to a hybrid adhesive, in particular for use in the production of engineered wood such as particle boards, fiber boards, plywood or glued-laminated timber, comprising at least one polycondensation adhesive, at least one polyaddition adhesive, and at least one particular, in particular a nanoparticle smaller than 500 nm, wherein the at least one particle is modified with at least one compound of the general Formula (I) RSiX, or the general Formula (II) OX(OH)RSiO. The present invention relates to a method for the production of wood material made of fragmentation products containing lignocelluloses, wherein these wood materials have a reduced emission of volatile organic compounds, aldehydes, particularly formaldehyde. Specifically, the invention relates to methods for the production of wood materials having reduced emission of volatile organic compounds and aldehydes, wherein a certain combination of compounds is utilized in order to prevent the emission of volatile organic compounds and aldehydes, particularly formaldehydes, from the produced wood material. The present invention further relates to wood material that can be produced according this method, particularly OSB panels, particle board, and MDF panels. Finally, the present invention provides compositions suitable in the treatment of wood material to reduce the emission of aldehydes, particularly formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds.

A wood chip drying system for drying wood chip includes a furnace, a drier for the wood chip and a recirculation apparatus for the recirculation of exhaust vapors into their drier. The recirculation apparatus has an exhaust vapor heater, and the wood chip drying system is designated to reduce organic compounds present in the exhaust vapor prior to the recirculation into the drier. The exhaust vapor heater includes a regenerative and/or catalytic heat exchanger which is arranged downstream after the drier and which is designated so as to heat up the exhaust vapor to a temperature which is high enough to oxidize at least a majority of particles present in the exhaust vapor.
