The invention relates to a bar arrangement for a machine for producing a fibrous web. The bar arrangement according to the invention is characterized by at least one restoring mechanism for bringing the mobile bar from the operating position into the rest position. The at least one restoring mechanism comprises at least one guided piece arranged on the mobile bar on the exterior and alongside thereof, said piece having an inclined contact surface the incline of which is directed at an angle (&#x3b1;) in the range of 5 to 60&#xb0;, preferably of 20 to 45&#xb0;, especially of 25 to 35&#xb0;, relative to the longitudinal direction of the mobile bar, at least one guiding piece on the interior of the C-shaped guiding unit, which has a preferably inclined guide surface that can be brought in contact with the inclined contact surface of the guided piece arranged on the exterior and alongside thereof when the mobile bar is brought from the operating position into the rest position, and at least one displacement device for displacing the mobile bar in its longitudinal direction which acts upon the mobile bar, preferably the face thereof, and which can preferably be controlled/regulated.

Bar arrangement for a machine for the production of a fibrous web

A device for applying a liquid to pasty medium to a moving surface, the moving surface in the case of direct application being the surface of a paper, board or other fibrous web. In the case of indirect application the moving surface being the surface of a transfer element which transfers the application medium to the surface of the fibrous web. The device includes an applicator for applying the medium and a doctor device arranged downstream in the running direction of the moving surface for doctoring off and/or equalizing the medium applied to the moving surface. In order to collect excess medium that has not remained on the moving surface and/or has not reached the latter, a flexible collecting part covering the interspace between applicator and doctor device is provided, which extends transversely with respect to the running direction of the moving surface and parallel to the applicator and the doctor device.

Application device

A system for computer assisted monitoring of a cross profile of a quality parameter of a material web, especially a paper or cardboard web during its production and/or conversion, which includes a measuring system for measuring the cross profile, at least one computer based operations and logic unit for the determination of the standard deviations of at least two interference profiles that are representative for different interferences in the form of different peak groups in the measured cross profile. The different peak groups differentiate in that their peaks have different width ranges. Elements for storage, display and/or further processing of the determined standard deviations are also included.

System for computer assisted monitoring of a cross profile of a quality parameter in a material web

The invention relates to a roll, including a roll tube that is supported exclusively, at least in radial direction, in an axially central area on a continuous roll support, whereby outside of the central area the roll tube is positioned at a distance A from the roll support, thereby permitting a deflection of the roll tube relative to the roll support. The invention is further characterized in that the roll tube is equipped with increased weights on both ends in order to create a deflection component in the respective ends due to the respective effective additional weight.

Roll

A flexible press cover which has an additional strengthening element in at least one of its two end regions. As a result, in the end region, the tensile strength and the tensile rigidity in the circumferential direction are increased with respect to that hitherto known in such a way that it is no longer necessary to clamp the press cover end region in between two components. Instead, the press cover according to the present invention is suitable to be fixed to the outer circumferential surface of a rotatable supporting element belonging to the cover carrying disk without the aid of an outer ring, a clamping band, clamping filament or the like. In the most beneficial case, the arrangement for fixing the press cover to the aforementioned supporting element is completely free of any kind of fixing elements which would be associated with the cover outer surface.

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt of a machine, pipe suction apparatus and traversing pipe suction apparatus therefor, the process including performing a zonal conditioning of a plurality of zones across a width of the felt belt by measuring at least one of, fibrous material web cross direction profile; felt belt cross direction profile; and permeability of the felt belt across the width of at least one of the web and the belt. The felt belt is conditioned depending on measuring results obtained for a respective zone. The pipe suction apparatus includes a ceramic body extending at least essentially across the entire width of the felt belt, the ceramic body being provided with a slotted surface by way of which the felt belt is subjectable to vacuum, with a respective effective amount of slotted surface being zonally variably adjustable by way of movable tongues.

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt

Process for determining disturbances of a moisture cross profile of a fibrous material web in a paper making machine, a paper making machine, and a measuring arrangement for measuring the disturbances, the process including guiding the fibrous material web by way of at least one water-permeable belt and collecting and draining off water released from the belt. The water is collected by several sections separated from one another. The process further includes measuring per time unit, the amount of water in each section, wherein the sections extend at right angles to a web running direction over only a partial section of the fibrous material web. The paper making machine includes at least one water-permeable belt, the belt being wrapped around a roll. The measuring arrangement includes a water collection device having the form of one of a trough or channel.

Moisture cross profile

Process and apparatus for dewatering a fibrous material web. The process includes guiding the fibrous material web through a dewatering zone, and directing a plurality of gas pressure pulses of a pressurized displacement gas one after the other onto a surface of the fibrous material web within the dewatering zone. The apparatus includes a device for forming a plurality of gas pressure pulses which are arranged one after the other within the dewatering zone. The plurality of gas pressure pulses are directed onto a surface of the fibrous material web.

Apparatus and process for dewatering a material web. The apparatus includes at least one pressure chamber formed by at least four substantially parallel rolls, a device arranged to introduce a pressurized gas into the at least one pressure chamber, and the at least four substantially parallel rolls being displaceable relative to one another to change an effective area of the at least one pressure chamber. The material web is guided through the at least one pressure chamber. The process includes pressurizing at least one pressure chamber with a gas medium, guiding the material web through the pressure chamber, driving water out of the material web using gas pressure within the at least one pressure chamber, and changing an effective area of the pressure chamber so as to adjust a dewatering capacity.

Device for dewatering a material web

Wire section, guidance device, and process of forming a web in a machine for producing a fibrous material web. The device include two revolving endless wire belts, a twin wire zone formed between the two revolving endless wire belts, and a revolving flexible support belt located in a vicinity of the twin wire zone and positioned to support at least one of the two wire belts in a support region. The flexible support belt is generally guided along an at least essentially circular cylindrical path, and the support region includes a support path having an average curvature radius that is greater than a curvature radius of the essentially circular path. The process includes supporting at least one of the two endless wire belts with the flexible support belt in a support region, rotating the flexible support belt along a generally circular path, and deflecting the support belt from the generally circular path in the support region, whereby the support belt in the support regions travels along a support path. An average radius of curvature of the flexible support belt in the support path is greater than an average radius of curvature of the flexible support belt in the generally circular path.

Wire section, belt guidance device, and process for forming fibrous material web in wire section

A sealing device and process for laterally sealing at least one overpressure zone or underpressure zone adjacent to an actuating surface in a paper-making machine. The sealing device has at least one sealing element arranged movably at least locally in an intake area of a support. The sealing element is loaded with a sealing or opposing force in order to place it against the actuating surface. A stopping element is fixed at a distance from the actuating surface which limits the seating motion of the sealing element.

Sealing device and process for sealing pressure zones in a paper-making machine

A press device for draining and/or smoothing, or shaping the surface and controlling the sheet structure of fibrous pulp webs with a surface weight of under 100 g/m,, such as the fibrous pulp webs used to make graphic papers. The device has a press area which includes at least one press nip through which, during operation, the fibrous pulp web is fed at a velocity of at least 1200 m/min, under simultaneous impingement by pressure. The press area includes at least two press zones subsequent to one another. The device is further characterized by a K value of at least 2.5 kPa&middot;s&middot;m. This K value is the product of L,and I,. L,is the length of the first press zone, measured along the direction in which the web runs, and I,is the total press impulse operating on the fibrous pulp web in the entire press area.

Process for draining or smoothing a fibrous pulp web

There is provided an endless belt for use in the production of a web of fibrous material. The belt has first and second sides. The first side is substantially open and the second side is substantially closed. The belt has a water storage capacity of at least 5 l/m,. The belt also has a mean flexural rigidity for a circumferential direction and direction cross-wise of the belt, based on a width of 1 meter each, each of which is no greater than approximately 10 Nm,.

Endless belt

A shoe press, in particular for a paper machine, comprising a pair of rolls, with one roll having a flexible roll sleeve that rotates around a stationary carrier and support devices, the flexible roll sleeve having axial end areas and being mounted on a carrier in a radially rotatable manner at each of its axial end areas over the support devices, each roll having a shoe with a flat support surface, the support surface of the shoe of one roll supporting an interior side of the roll sleeve, the support surfaces being arranged essentially parallel to each other to create a press opening therebetween, and at least one of the support devices being radially flexible, and in particular elastic.

Shoe press

A roll for use in a paper machine including a bendable roll shell disposed around a continuous roll carrier. The roll shell is supported at least in the radial direction on the roll carrier only in an axial central region. Axially outside the central region, the roll shell and/or carrier are respectively shaped and positioned that there is radial spacing between them for allowing the roll shell to bend in relation to the roll carrier under the weight of the roll shell and the force exerted by the belt, web, or the like, partially wrapped around the roll shell. To improve the behavior of the roll, the roll shell is of such material and/or shaped so that beginning from the central region, the rigidity of the roll shell decreases toward the axial ends of the roll shell in such a way that loading resulting from the dead weight of the roll shell and the operational loading on the roll shell causes desired curvature of the bending line of the roll shell. The roll shell may be affixed to rotate with the carrier or rotatable with respect to the carrier. The rigidity adjustment of the roll shell is obtainable either by varying the wall thickness of the roll shell and/or by selective inclusion of reinforcement materials within the roll shell for affecting the rigidity.
