An over-the-air test system is described that is used for testing a device under test in a wireless communication environment. The test system comprises at least one measurement antenna connected with a signal processing unit configured to generate a signal or to analyze a signal. The test system further comprises a reflector configured to reflect electromagnetic signals, the reflector being positioned in a signal path established between the device under test and the measurement antenna such that the signals are reflected by the reflector. The measurement antenna has a radiation pattern with a main lobe, the measurement antenna being configured to adjust the direction of the main lobe with respect to the reflector in order to simulate different impinging angles of the signals. Further, a method for testing a device under test is described.

Over-the-air test system and method for testing a device under test

A measuring device provides a central data-processing unit, a control unit and at least one memory unit. The control unit and the at least one memory unit are connected to the central data-processing unit. At a given time, the control unit compares the adjustable parameters of the measuring device with parameters for a basic setting of the measuring device and generates control commands for the adjustment of the deviating parameters, or the control unit registers the parameter changes from a given time and generates control commands from these in order to adjust the changed parameters.

Simple generation of a remote-control sequence for measuring devices

A method and a device for controlling the level of a pulsed high-frequency signal amplify or respectively attenuate an un-pulsed high-frequency signal with an amplification or attenuation element adjustable with regard to its amplification or attenuation factor. A pulsed high-frequency signal is generated by a pulse modulator controlled by a pulse signal from the un-pulsed high-frequency signal. At the output of the pulse modulator, a signal level of the pulsed high-frequency signal is measured by a high-frequency detector. The amplification or attenuation factor of the amplification or attenuation element is adjusted with a level controller controlled by the measured signal level. To control the level controller, the measured signal level of the pulsed high-frequency signal is linked to the measured signal level of the pulse signal.

A signal generator including a DDS-signal source that is configured to operate according to the principle of direct digital synthesis (DDS), and a PLL signal synthesizer that is configured to operate according to the principle of phase locked loop (PLL) using an output signal from the DDS-signal source as a reference signal. The DDS-signal source can be connected via a direct connection, without further frequency division or mixing, directly to an output of the signal generator or directly to a level-adjustment device of the signal generator in order to generate a portion of an overall frequency range of an output signal of the signal generator.
