A method for monitoring the traffic flow with the aid of a stationary radar sensor, which operates in the frequency band of 76 GHz to 77 GHz and is operated in such a way that it meets a radiation protection criterion according to which, in a sequence of consecutive time intervals which all have the same length T, each of these time intervals includes an uninterrupted radiation-free time period of at least 0.9 T. An arbitrary stationary point in the surroundings of the radar sensor within each of these time intervals is exposed to the radar radiation of this radar sensor for no more than a radiation duration of L≤T/100. The radar sensor is static during the measuring operation, and the radiation protection criterion is met by the temporally clocked operation of the radar sensor.

Method and radar sensor for monitoring the traffic flow

A method for synchronizing at least two environment sensors of a multi-sensor system using a central processing unit. In the method, the environment sensors acquire sensor signals that represent at least one item of environment information. The respective environment sensors generate data packets which include the respective acquired sensor signals and/or measured variables derived from the sensor signals in each case. These data packets are received by the central processing unit via a data network. Signal propagation times of the data packets for each environment sensor are ascertained using an algorithm, and a mean signal propagation time of data packets from a respective environment sensor is determined based on a content comparison of the measured variables included by the data packets with corresponding measured variables from data packets of at least one other environment sensor, and the determined mean signal propagation time is assigned to the respective environment sensor.

A method for adapting a driving behavior of a semi, highly or fully automated vehicle and includes the following steps: receiving passenger compartment data; ascertaining a safety state of at least one vehicle occupant which in particular represents an injury probability of the vehicle occupant in the event of an accident, based on the passenger compartment data; and adapting the driving behavior of the vehicle based on the safety state of the at least one vehicle occupant.
