A low delay time power converter circuit includes a driver circuit and a load. The driver circuit generates a switching driving signal to control the load. The driver circuit includes a switching control circuit and an output stage circuit which includes a first power switch, a second power switch and an impedance adjusting circuit. When the switching control circuit controls the switching driving signal to a first voltage level at a first time point, the first power switch is turned ON and then is turned OFF after a predetermined period. When the switching control circuit controls the switching driving signal to a second voltage level at a second time point, the second power switch is turned ON. The time point when the first power switch is turned OFF is earlier than the second time point. A resistance of the impedance adjusting circuit is larger than a conductive resistance of the first power switch.

A flyback power converter includes: a transformer, a power switch, a switch control unit, a synchronous rectifier switch and a secondary side control circuit. The secondary side control circuit includes: a switch signal generation circuit and a first power conversion circuit. The secondary side control circuit is coupled to the synchronous rectifier switch and the secondary winding of the transformer. The switch signal generation circuit generates the synchronous rectifier switch signal selectively according to a first power or a second power, to control the synchronous rectifier switch. The first power is related to the output voltage. The first power conversion circuit generates the second power according to a secondary phase signal on a phase node between the secondary winding of the transformer and the synchronous rectifier switch.

An overvoltage protection method includes the following steps: (A) sensing a voltage of the switching node, to obtain a switching node voltage; (B) determining whether an overvoltage event occurs in the switching node voltage; and (C) if it is determined yes in the step (B), outputting a protection signal. An overvoltage event is determined directly according to the switching node voltage, not directly according to the output voltage.

A multi-phase switching regulator includes: a plurality of power stages, a plurality of pulse width modulation (PWM) controllers and a ramp signal setting circuit. The PWM controllers generate corresponding PWM signals for controlling corresponding power stages respectively according to an error signal related to an output voltage and a plurality of ramp signals corresponding to corresponding power stages respectively. The ramp signal setting circuit adjusts the ramp signal of the phase that is to be enabled or disabled according to the phase adjustment signal. Under a phase-cut operation, the ramp signal setting circuit causes a basis level of the ramp signal corresponding to the phase to be disabled to gradually change, thereby decreasing a duty ratio of the PWM signal corresponding to the phase to be disabled.

Multi-phase switching regulator and control circuit and control method thereof

The present invention provides a motor controller for controlling a DC motor according to a reference signal. The motor controller includes a compensator, a pulse width modulation unit, and a motor driving unit. The compensator generates a control signal according to the reference signal and a sensing signal from the DC motor. The pulse width modulation unit generates a motor control signal by comparing the control signal and a ramp signal having a varying frequency. The motor driving unit receives the motor control signal and drives the DC motor according to the motor control signal.

A parameter setting circuit and method for an integrated circuit apply a pulse current to a pin of the integrated circuit during a programming mode of the integrated circuit, and then extract the difference between the voltage on the pin and the DC component of the voltage on the pin to determine a setting signal for parameter setting to an internal circuit of the integrated circuit. By this way, an input pin, an output pin or an input/output pin of the integrated circuit may be used as the pin implementing the parameter setting function.

An auto-zero amplifier is disclosed, having an amplifying circuit, a switch, and a difference signal generating circuit. The amplifying circuit receives a first input signal for generating a first output signal, and receives a second input signal for generating a second output signal. The switch is coupled between the amplifying circuit and a capacitor. The switch is conducted for charging or discharging the capacitor to a voltage with the first output signal, and the switch is not conducted for keeping the capacitor at the voltage. The difference signal generating circuit is coupled with the amplifying circuit and the capacitor for generating a difference signal of the first output signal and the second output signal, a multiple of the difference signal, a part of the difference signal, and/or a digital output value for the difference signal.

A zero-crossing detection circuit and a commutation device using the zero-crossing detection circuit are provided. The zero-crossing detection circuit is adapted into a three-phase brushless DC (direct current) motor with first to third coils. One terminal of each of the first to third coils is electrically coupled together with each other. The detection circuit comprises a first selection circuit, a second selection circuit and a comparator. The first selection circuit and the second selection circuit are both electrically coupled to another terminals of the first to third coils, to obtain first to third terminal voltages, and output one of the first to third terminal voltages according to a selection signal. The switching regulator can switch between a pulse width modulation (PWM) mode and a pulse skipping mode. The control method for the switching regulator comprises: comparing a feedback signal relating to an output voltage with a reference signal, to generate an error amplification signal; generating a duty signal according to the error amplification signal and a ramp signal, to control the switching regulator; setting a threshold level of the error amplification signal and a threshold level of the pulse skipping mode according to the error amplification signal in a stable status; and when the error amplification signal is close or equal to the threshold level of the pulse skipping mode, generating a pulse skip signal to enter the pulse skipping mode.

A ramp generator is provided to provide a multi-slope ramp signal for a PWM power converter. The ramp generator determines the slope turning points for the multi-slope ramp signal according to the error signal of the PWM power converter and thereby improve the transient response of the PWM power converter. Preferably, the slope turning point of the multi-slope ramp signal varies with the average of the error signal and is thus adaptive to the error signal and thereby the load condition.
