Thermoplastic resin and method of preparing the same

The present invention relates to a thermoplastic resin composition including a (meth)acrylate graft copolymer and a method of preparing the thermoplastic resin composition. According to the present invention, the thermoplastic resin composition includes a graft copolymer (A) containing an alkyl acrylate rubber core and an alkyl methacrylate compound (co)polymer shell surrounding the alkyl acrylate rubber core; and a matrix resin (B). In this case, the rubber core has an average particle diameter of 40 to 100 nm, the graft copolymer (A) has a grafting degree of 20 to 100%, and the thermoplastic resin composition has a refractive index of greater than 1.46 and less than 1.49 and a blackness (L value) of less than 25.0.

Thermoplastic resin composition including (meth)acrylate graft copolymer and method of preparing thermoplastic resin composition

The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic resin having excellent non-whitening properties, impact strength, gloss, and fluidity, and a method of preparing the thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin includes an alkyl acrylate-alkyl methacrylate graft copolymer (A), or the copolymer (A) and a matrix resin (B) including one or more selected from the group consisting of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyanide compound-alkyl methacrylate copolymer and an alkyl methacrylate polymer. A transparency measured under a condition of 3 mm thickness is less than 5, the total content of the alkyl acrylate is 20 to 50% by weight, and an alkyl acrylate coverage value (X) as calculated by Equation 1 below is 65 or more:={()/}×100,  [Equation 1]

Transparent thermoplastic resin and method of preparing the same

The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic resin having excellent impact strength, gloss, fluidity, and non-whitening properties and a method of preparing the same. The thermoplastic resin including an alkyl acrylate-alkyl methacrylate graft copolymer (A), or an alkyl acrylate-alkyl methacrylate graft copolymer (A) and a matrix resin (B) including one or more selected from the group consisting of an aromatic vinyl compound, a vinyl cyanide compound, an alkyl methacrylate, and an alkyl acrylate, wherein a total content of the alkyl acrylate is 20 to 50% by weight, and a butyl acrylate coverage value (X) as calculated by Equation 1 below is 50 or more.={()/}×100  [Equation 1] In Equation 1, G represents the total gel content (%) of the thermoplastic resin, and Y represents the content (% by weight) of butyl acrylate in the gel of the thermoplastic resin.

The present invention relates to an acrylic graft copolymer, a method of preparing the same, and a thermoplastic resin composition including the same. More specifically, the acrylic graft copolymer of the present invention includes a seed, a core, and a graft shell. In this case, the graft shell includes 0.05 to 2 parts by weight of a reactive ultraviolet stabilizer based on 100 parts by weight of the acrylic graft copolymer, and the graft shell has an average particle diameter of 80 to 140 nm (greater than the average particle diameter of the core). The acrylic graft copolymer of the present invention has excellent impact strength, tensile strength, weather resistance, and surface gloss. In addition, when the acrylic graft copolymer is used, mold deposits may be reduced.
