Solar cell and method for manufacturing the same

A method of manufacturing a solar cell includes forming jagged portions non-uniformly on a surface of a substrate, forming a first type semiconductor and a second type semiconductor in the substrate, forming a first electrode to contact the first type semiconductor, and forming a second electrode to contact the second type semiconductor. An etchant used in a wet etching process in manufacturing the solar cell includes about 0.5 wt % to 10 wt % of HF, about 30 wt % to 60 wt % of HNO, and up to about 30 wt % of acetic acid based on total weight of the etchant.

A solar cell is discussed. The solar cell according to an embodiment includes a substrate of a first conductive type, an emitter layer of a second conductive type opposite the first conductive type, which forms a p-n junction along with the substrate, a first anti-reflection layer on the emitter layer, a second anti-reflection layer on the first anti-reflection layer, a first electrode part connected to the emitter layer, and a second electrode part connected to the substrate. Discussed herein are a solar cell and a fabricating method thereof. The solar cell includes a first conductivity-type semiconductor substrate, a second conductivity-type semiconductor layer formed on a front surface of the first conductivity-type semiconductor substrate, and having a conductivity opposite to that of the first conductivity-type semiconductor substrate, an anti-reflection film including at least one opening exposing a part of a surface of the second conductivity-type semiconductor layer, and formed on the second conductivity-type semiconductor layer, at least one front electrode contacting a part of the surface of the second conductivity-type semiconductor layer exposed through the at least one opening, and at least one rear electrode formed on a rear surface of the first conductivity-type semiconductor substrate, wherein the at least one front electrode includes a metal containing silver and lead-free glass frit.

Solar cell and fabricating method thereof

Methods of texturing and manufacturing a solar cell are provided. The method of texturing the solar includes texturing a surface of a substrate of the solar cell using a wet etchant, and the wet etchant includes a surfactant.
