An optical fiber terminal box configured to be mounted on a guiding structure includes: a box base including two side walls extending in a front-rear direction to form an accommodation space between the two side walls; and an upper cover coupled with the box base. The box base further includes a locking member disposed at an outer surface of each of the two wide walls and configured to lock the optical fiber terminal box to the guiding structure, a cable management member disposed at a front end of the two side walls, and a handle disposed at a front end of the cable management member. When being subject to an external force, the handle drives the locking member to unlock from the guiding structure.

A fiber optic module for installation within patch panel, the fiber optic module comprising a first outer wall with a first rail profile on its outside surface, a second outer wall with a second rail profile on its outside surface, and at least one optical connector. The first outer wall and the second outer wall run parallel to each other. The at least one optical connector is arranged between the first outer wall and the second outer wall. The first rail profile and the second rail profile are complementary to each other such that the fiber optic module may be coupled to an adjacent fiber optic module, wherein the first rail profile of the fiber optic module may be coupled to the second rail profile of the adjacent fiber optic module.

A fiber optic connector includes a mechanical splice assembly and a connector body. The connector body has a first portion joined to a second portion. The first portion of the connector body includes first and second chambers. An opening on a front end of the connector body passes through the first chamber into the second chamber so that the mechanical splice assembly can be inserted into the first and second chambers. The second portion of the connector body includes cable retention arms that extend out from the rear end of the first portion and an opening that passes into the second chamber.

A fiber optic connector has a mechanical splice assembly and a mechanical splice assembly holder. The mechanical splice assembly holder includes a body section and a cable retention section. The cable retention section includes a pair of cable retention arms extending from the body section and a guiding groove that is extended out from the body section. The guiding groove is located between the two cable retention arms.

Disclosed are fiber optic connectors including a holder for attaching a fiber optic cable to a fiber optic connector along with cable assemblies and methods for making the same. In one embodiment, the holder includes a first and a second cantilevered arm that are squeezed together when a sleeve is placed over the holder. Further, one or more of the cantilevered arm may include a plurality of teeth for 'biting' into the cable jacket and providing a suitable fiber optic cable retention force. The fiber optic connectors, cable assemblies and methods disclosed herein are advantageous since they allow the craft to quickly, reliably, and easily attach a robust fiber optic cable to a connector, thereby providing a rugged solution for the craft.
