The present invention provides a liquid crystal display with a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit includes two sub-pixels, and each sub-pixel includes a thin film transistor, a liquid crystal capacitor and a storage capacitor. One of the storage capacitors is a tunable capacitor. The tunable capacitor includes a first conductive layer, an insulating layer, a semiconductor layer with a area A, and a second metal layer. The second conductive layer has a first region with a area Aoverlapping with the semiconductor layer. The area Ais less than the area A.

Liquid crystal display

A repairing method of a liquid crystal display panel having a gravity defect includes steps of providing a first pressure to the liquid crystal display panel. Next, a second pressure is continuously provided to the liquid crystal display panel, and a section from the edge of the liquid crystal panel to the sealant is removed and forming an opening through the closed sealant frame. Then, forcing out the excess liquid crystal to flow out the panel through the cut off sections, cleaning out the excess material including LC mixture around the opening, and sealing the opening with a fresh end sealant. After that, providing a third pressure to the liquid crystal display panel, curing the end sealant to seal the opening, and then removing the third pressure. Finally, annealing the liquid crystal display panel to recover original display quality.

Repairing method for a liquid crystal display panel

An in-plane switching liquid crystal display, especially relative to an in-plane switching liquid crystal display with the absence of an overcoat layer is provided. The in-plane switching liquid crystal display having a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched therebetween, a plurality of gate lines and data lines disposed on the first substrate, a counter electrode disposed on the second substrate and corresponding to one of the data lines, a pixel having a pixel electrode, a pair of shielding electrodes and a common electrode also disposed on the first substrate. Through the arrangement of shielding electrodes as well as the counter electrode, the coupling effect of the applied pixel voltage on the data lines is shielded.
