A high-hardness heat-resistant alloy comprising 13-17 wt % of Cr, 2-6 wt % of Al, 0.1-8 wt % of Mo, 1.5-3.5 wt % of B, 0.5-3 wt % of Ti, and 4-7 wt % of Co, the remaining components of the alloy being Ni and inevitable impurities. The alloy has high hardness and high strength at high temperatures and is therefore very suitable for use as a deposit or build-up welding material for exhaust valves in large low-speed diesel engines.

High-hardness heat-resistant alloy

A roll material comprising, in proportions by weight, 0.04-0.20% C, 0.2-0.8% Si, 0.4-1.5% Mn, 0.2-1.0% Ni, 10.0-14.0% Cr, 0.5-4% Cu, 0.1-0.5% V, 0.01-0.35% Nb, 0.01-0.06% Al, P and S each in a reduced amount of up to 0.03% as impurity elements, and the balance Fe. The material is comparable in resistance to high-temperature oxidation in 13Cr martensitic stainless steels which are presently used and yet has outstanding strength at high temperatures.

Materials for rolls

Method in which a metal fuel in the form of molten droplets is brought into contact with water for reaction. The fuel comprises aluminum as a primary fuel component and at least one of lithium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and sodium-potassium alloy as an auxiliary fuel component and is used in the form of an alloy or a mixture of these fuel components. When used in the form of an alloy, the fuel is preheated to a molten state and injected into a reactor under high pressure, whereby the fuel is made into droplets and contacted with water vapor introduced into the reactor from another system. For use as a mixture, the fuel is made into a slurry the liquid phase of which consists singly of the auxiliary fuel component, and the slurry is injected into an atmosphere containing water vapor.
