An internal voltage generator of a smart card and a smart card including the same. The internal voltage generator may include: a mode detector that generates a mode signal indicating a contact mode or a contactless mode; a low-drop out (LDO) regulator including an error amplifier, where the LDO regulator is responsive to the mode signal to: in the contact mode, drive the error amplifier with a second driving voltage to generate an error voltage, and regulate the second driving voltage based on the error voltage to generate a first output voltage, and in the contactless mode, drive the error amplifier with the first driving voltage to generate the error voltage, and regulate the second driving voltage based on the error voltage to generate the first output voltage.

Internal voltage generator and smart card including the same

A bi-directional voltage converter of a smart card includes switching elements connected between an input node and an output node and a start-up transistors whose channel width over channel length is smaller than a channel width over channel length of the switching element. The bi-directional voltage converter stores a driving voltage applied to an output node in a storage capacitor during a booting operation and provides the voltage stored in the storage capacitor to an input node. The bi-directional voltage converter may boost another driving voltage at the input node step-wisely and may perform bi-directional voltage converting with reduced occupied area and high efficiency.

A fully differential amplifier includes: an input stage comprising a first amplification circuit and a second amplification circuit, one of which is configured to generate a push signal and the other of which is configured to generate a pull signal, each by amplifying a differential input signal; an output stage for generating a differential output signal based on the push signal and the pull signal; and a feedback circuit for providing common mode feedback to the first amplification circuit based on the differential output signal, wherein the second amplification circuit may include a passive network for setting a common mode voltage of the push signal or the pull signal.

A reconfigurable analog filter includes a transimpedance amplifier configured to convert a current signal into a voltage signal, an input capacitor configured to form a current-mode low pass filter together with an input impedance of the transimpedance amplifier, a variable load circuit including at least one switch configured to selectively close a circuit path to provide a resistor and/or a capacitor as a load of the transimpedance amplifier according to a control signal, and a low pass filter configured to filter the voltage signal.
