Disclosed are an electric motor and an electric vehicle having the same. The electric motor includes a stator including a stator core and a stator coil wound around the stator core, a rotor disposed to be rotatable with respect to the stator, and a cooling unit configured to allow a cooling fluid to flow therein and disposed to be in contact with the stator to cool the stator, wherein an outer surface of the stator core includes grooves in which the cooling unit is inserted. Cooling performance can be enhanced by shortening a heat transmission path, and the cooling unit can be easily fabricated and coupled.

Electric motor and electric vehicle having the same

An electric motor includes a frame, a stator disposed in the frame, a rotor disposed in the frame, and a cooling unit configured to perform a cooling operation by supplying a cooling fluid into the frame. Under this configuration, a cooling function may be enhanced, and a high output density and high efficiency may be implemented.

An electric motor disposed in an electric vehicle includes a stator, a first rotor located at an outer side of the stator, and a second rotor located at an inner side of the stator, wherein each of the first rotor and the second rotor includes a plurality of first permanent magnets and a plurality of second permanent magnets, made of different materials from each other, whereby a material cost can be reduced and an output can be enhanced.

A motor for an electric vehicle includes a frame, a stator disposed in the frame, a rotor disposed to be rotatable with respect to the stator; and an engaging portion that restricts the stator from moving with respect to the frame in a circumferential direction, the engaging portion including at least one rib protruding from one of the surfaces of the frame and the stator, and at least one rib accommodation portion formed at other of the surfaces of the frame and the stator, wherein the at least one rib and the at least one accommodation portion are engaged to allow heat to be transferred therebetween. Under this configuration, a cooling performance may be improved and durability may be enhanced.
