In a clutch assembly, a driven member is driven by a driving member through an engaging or clutch member which is mounted on the driven member movably between a position to be engaged with the driving member and a position to be released from the driving member. The engaging or clutch member is thrust toward the engaged position by a first thrusting force. A releasing member is movable between an active position to abut at one end thereof against the engaging or clutch member and an inactive position to be apart from the engaging member, and is thrust toward the abutting end by a second thrusting force. When the releasing member abuts against the engaging member, the releasing member is first moved in the opposite direction to the second thrusting force direction by a driving force of the driving member to reach a stop position, and then the engaging member is moved in the direction to be disengaged from the driving member by the driving force of the driving member. The engaging or clutch member is further moved, after having been disengaged from the driving member, by the second thrusting force to reach the released position.

A magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus has incorporated therein a tape cassette adapter which can house therein a small tape cassette and which has a mechanism for drawing out a magnetic tape from the small tape cassette to attain nearly the same tape travel path to that of a large tape cassette in order to load the magnetic tape on a tape drive mechanism. The tape cassette adapter can have a position that it will not interfere with the loading and unloading of the large tape cassette, a position where at least a part of the tape cassette adapter is projected outside from the apparatus so that the samll tape cassette can be housed into or removed from the adapter, and a position where the drawn-out magnetic tape is driven by a tape drive mechanism of the apparatus. Either the small or large tape cassette can be easily loaded on or unloaded from the apparatus.

A camera apparatus having a image fluctuation suppressing function has a fixed body and a lens barrel. The lens barrel is supported rotatably in at least one of panning and tilting directions by a supporting frame. The lens barrel is rotated by a panning or tilting actuator for suppressing an image fluctuation due to a fluctuation of the fixed body. The apparatus has a lock mechanism for locking the lens barrel so as not to rotate. The apparatus preferably has a mechanism for compensating for a movement of center of gravity of the lens barrel due to focusing or zooming operation.

Magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus

A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus provided with a reversible motor, a rotary member rotated by the motor, an operating mode changer connected to the rotary member to change the operating mode of the apparatus, a tape loader movable in reciprocation between an inoperative position where a magnetic tape can be drawn out from a cassette and an operative position where the tape is drawn out and then wound onto a guide drum, a drive driven intermittently by the rotary member to cause the tape loader to reciprocate between the inoperative and operative positions, and a lock for holding the drive when the tape loader is brought to the operative position. The motor is connected to a housing including therein a speed-reduction device so that the motor output is taken from the peripheral side surface of the motor to drive the rotary member. Thus, the apparatus is highly reliable, small-sized, low in power consumption, and light in weight.

An optical lens moving mechanism for zoom lens systems using a plane cam is disclosed. A lens system having an optical axis comprises at least two lens groups. A first lens holder and a second lens holder which respectively hold the two lens groups are moved along a guide parallel with the optical axis by a rotational movement of the plane cam which moves on a plane parallel with the optical axis, to zoom the lens system. The mechanism further includes a zooming motor, a position detector, and a controller to control the rotation of the motor, according to the zooming position of the lens system, to achieve a uniform zooming speed.

Optical lens moving mechanism

A tape cassette adapter has a compact cassette, the magnetic tape of which is drawn out of the compact cassette by the movement of a tape drawing member from an inoperative position to an operative position due to movement in a single direction by a slide member. The tape is wound back onto a take-up reel of the compact cassette by a rotating member due to movement of the slide member in the reverse direction, while the tape drawing member returns from the operative position to the inoperative position.

Tape cassette adapter

A tape cassette adapter which is useful for a tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus such as a video tape recorder and draws a tape out of a compact cassette by the movement of a tape drawing mechanism from an inoperative position to an operative position. The tape cassette adapter comprises an engaging member which engages to rotate synchronously with a take-up reel drive shaft of the standard size magnetic tape cassette apparatus, a take-up reel drive mechanism for rotating the take-up reel of the compact cassette, and a joint mechanism of rotational power transmission between the rotational member and the take-up reel drive mechanism. Consequently the tape cassette adapter is able to be mounted on apparatuses smoothly, even if the position of the take-up reel drive shaft deviates from a standard position.
