Shift registers output high-level pulses each having a length of two or more horizontal periods one after another with a transfer step of one horizontal period. The shift register is controlled by a first clock signal and a second clock signal in m phases of clock signals. The shift register includes a high-level output thin-film transistor, a low-level output thin-film transistor and a buffer thin-film transistor. The buffer thin-film transistor receives a control signal having a pulse width and a cycle same as the first clock signal in a period where an output terminal is outputting a low-level potential. High-duties of the first clock signal and the second clock signal are expressed as PW/mH, where PW represents pulse widths of the first clock signal and the second clock signal and H represents one horizontal period. On-duties of all the thin-film transistors are not more than PW/mH.

Scanning circuit

A second display region has a lower pixel density than a first display region. A third metal layer is located upper than a first metal layer and a second metal layer. The occupancy of the third metal layer in the second display region is lower than the occupancy in the first display region. In a pixel unit, the first metal layer includes a first electrode region to control an amount of electric current in a driving transistor, the second metal layer includes a second electrode region and a third electrode region to supply current to the driving transistor, and the third metal layer includes a main region to form a capacitor included in a capacitive element to store a control voltage for the driving transistor, and an island region surrounded by the main region with a gap and interconnected with a lower electrode region by a via region.

Display device and electronic device

A driving transistor is configured to control driving current for the light-emitting element. A first capacitive element and a second capacitive element are connected in series between a gate and a source of the driving transistor. A first switching transistor is configured to switch connection/disconnection between a data line and an intermediate node located between the first capacitive element and the second capacitive element. A second switching transistor is configured to switch connection/disconnection between the gate and a drain of the driving transistor. A third switching transistor is configured to switch connection/disconnection between the intermediate node and a reference power line. A fourth switching transistor is configured to switch supply/non-supply of driving current from the driving transistor to the light-emitting element. A fifth switching transistor is configured to switch connection/disconnection between an anode of the light-emitting element and a reset power line.

Pixel circuit configured to control light-emitting element

A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit on the substrate, a power supply line, and an extra voltage supply line different from the power supply line and the data line. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor to control an amount of electric current supplied to a light-emitting element, a storage capacitor between a gate terminal of the driving transistor and the power supply line, a first switching transistor between the light-emitting element and the driving transistor, a second switching transistor between a source terminal of the driving transistor and the data line, and a third switching transistor between the source terminal of the driving transistor and the extra voltage supply line. The third switching transistor supplies a signal voltage different from the data signal to the driving transistor from the extra voltage supply line.

Display device and method of controlling the same

A light-emission control switch transistor and a threshold compensation switch transistor are transistors having different conductivity types. Gate potentials at the light-emission control switch transistor and the threshold compensation switch transistor are controlled using a first control signal. A gate potential at the data signal switch transistor is controlled using a second control signal. A control circuit selects rows sequentially. in a selected one of the rows, the light-emission control switch transistor is maintained off, the threshold compensation switch transistor is maintained on, and the data signal switch transistor is maintained off in a first period. In the selected row, the light-emission control switch transistor is maintained on, the threshold compensation switch transistor is maintained off, and the data signal switch transistor is maintained on in a second period after the first period.

Display device

A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line configured to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit on the substrate, and a monitoring circuit. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor configured to control an amount of electric current supplied to a light-emitting element, and a first switching transistor disposed between the light-emitting element and the driving transistor. The first switching transistor switches between supplying and not supplying the light-emitting element with electric current from the driving transistor. The monitoring circuit monitors a signal at a monitoring point located between the driving transistor and the first switching transistor in the pixel circuit.

A driver is configured to maintain a threshold compensation transistor to be ON to write a threshold compensation voltage to a storage capacitor in a threshold compensation period, and write a data signal to the storage capacitor in a data write period after the threshold compensation period. A pulse width of control signal is twice or more as long as the data write period. The driver circuit is configured to turn ON a first transistor with a start edge of a first control signal pulse before the data write period starts, maintain the first transistor to be ON and turn ON a second transistor with a start edge of a second control signal pulse to start the data write period, and turn OFF the first transistor with an end edge of the first control signal pulse to end the data write period.

A circuit includes a flip-flop included in a multi-stage shift register and a control element. The flip-flop includes an output field-effect transistor, a first field-effect transistor configured to operate to supply one of a high potential and a low potential to the gate of the output field-effect transistor, and a second field-effect transistor configured to operate to supply the other one of the high potential and the low potential to the gate of the output field-effect transistor. The control element is configured to operate to make an electric current flow between the gate and a power supply in the opposite direction of an off-leakage current from at least either one of the first field-effect transistor and the second field-effect transistor in a period where the first field-effect transistor and the second field-effect transistor are off.

Circuit including flip-flop and control element

A display device includes power lines, first driving transistors on a first side of each of the power lines, second driving transistors on a second side of each of the power lines, light-emitting elements of a first color, a second color and a third color. A first driving transistor of a first power line drives a light-emitting element of the first color. A second driving transistor of the first power line drives a light-emitting element of the second color. A first driving transistor of a second power line drives a light-emitting element of the third color. A second driving transistor of the second power line drives a light-emitting element of the second color. A first driving transistor of a third power line drives a light-emitting element of the first color. A second driving transistor of the third power line drives a light-emitting element of the third color.

Organic light-emitting diode display device with pixel array

A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line on the substrate, the data line being configured to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit, a monitoring line on the substrate, the monitoring line being different from the data line, and a monitoring circuit. The monitoring circuit is configured to monitor a signal at a monitoring point on a path of the data signal with the monitoring line, and supply a correction signal in place of the data signal to the pixel circuit via the monitoring line and the monitoring point in response to detection of transmission failure of the data signal.

Provided is a display apparatus that compensates a drive transistor threshold to attain a highly precise structure. The display apparatus comprises a light emitting element including a first electrode, a second electrode and an organic light emitting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a pixel circuit including a capacitor and a drive transistor letting current according to voltage of the capacitor flow in the light emitting element. The pixel circuit stops supply of current to the light emitting element while connecting the capacitor to the first electrode.

Tactile sense presentation device

X and Y electrodes arranged on a support substrate of the tactile sense presentation device are divided into M groups (here, M&#x2265;2, M=4 in FIG.). When a presentation content of a tactile sense transits from the N-th frame to the (N+1)-th frame, the device, first, sets electrodes belonging to a group 1 to a floating state for a predetermined time and then, connects each electrode to an AC voltage signal source or the ground so as to present a tactile sense in the (N+1)-th frame. The device sequentially performs this operation for each group, and, when the operation of group M ends, transition between frames ends, and movement of the target area in which a texture sense is presented is completed. There is no case where all the electrodes are in the floating state together, and there is no interruption of the texture sense.
