Provided is a piston push rod assembly which can prevent discomfort from being imparted during the operation of a brake pedal by a driver. A piston push rod assembly, wherein: a second piston is provided with a piston slide section which is housed in a cylinder and which slides relative to the cylinder, and a connection tube section which is connected to a push rod; the piston slide section is covered by metal plating; the connection tube section has a non-plated section; and the second piston and the push rod are connected by the caulking of the connection tube section when the push rod has been inserted inside the connection tube section.

Provided is a stroke simulator in which the piston operates smoothly without being inhibited from displacement thereof by the negative pressure generated in the closed space, even if the piston is configured to be displaced so as to close the space in which the elastic member is housed, and to elastically deform the elastic member. A stroke simulator, in which a simulator piston presses a first return spring, which is housed in a bottomed cylindrical portion, from an opening portion side of the cylindrical portion, to cause the first return spring to be elastically deformed, and to generate a brake reaction force. When the opening portion is closed by the simulator piston, a brake fluid filled in the cylinder portion is taken into the inside of the cylindrical portion via a flow path leading to the inside of the cylindrical portion from a second cylinder.

Stroke simulator

A braking device includes a guide piston which surrounds the outer periphery of a rod part of a second slave piston, a cup seal which is mounted on the second slave piston, and a seal member which is provided on the guide piston. The second slave piston includes an enlarged diameter portion which comes into contact with an axial-direction surface of the guide piston when the second slave piston is in the initial position, and the enlarged diameter portion is provided with a cut-out section which extends in the internal diameter direction of the second slave piston.

Braking device

A first slave piston and a second slave piston are disposed in tandem in series within a cylinder body, and the pistons are arranged so that part of the shaft section of the second slave piston overlaps with the inner periphery of an opening section provided in the backward side, in the displacement direction, of the first slave piston. A long hole extending along the axial direction of the second slave piston is provided in the shaft section, and a connection pin which regulates the initial position of the second slave piston is inserted into the long hole.

Provided is a vehicle brake system including a master cylinder which generates a master hydraulic pressure through an operation of a brake pedal by an operator, and a cylinder body which houses a first and second slave pistons driven by an electric motor operated in accordance with an operation amount of the brake pedal, and is formed with a first hydraulic chamber and a second hydraulic chamber for generating a slave hydraulic pressure through operations of the first and second slave pistons. Further, the cylinder body includes a first bleeder and a second bleeder which are configured to be switchable between open states in which a first hydraulic chamber and a second hydraulic chamber are in communication with an external of the cylinder body and closed states in which the first hydraulic chamber and the second hydraulic chamber are not in communication with the external of the cylinder body.

Brake device

In a vehicular brake-by-wire braking system, during a four wheel simultaneous control mode when regeneration cooperative braking is implemented, a pair of electromagnetic isolation control valves and one of normally closed electromagnetic pressure relief valves corresponding to regeneration side left and right wheel brakes and normally closed electromagnetic pressure relief valves corresponding to non-regeneration side left and right wheel brakes are caused to operate to open and close, while the other of the normally closed electromagnetic pressure relief valves corresponding to the regeneration side left and right wheel brakes and the normally closed electromagnetic pressure relief valves corresponding to the non-regeneration side left and right wheel brakes are put in de-energized states in which the valves concerned are kept closed, and all normally open electromagnetic pressure supply valves are put in de-energized states in which the valves concerned are kept opened.

A pressure regulating valve unitis configured to be electrically driven according to a detection value of a detection unitadapted to detect an amount of brake application effort made by a brake operation memberso as to switch states of the vehicle brake apparatus between a state where a boosted hydraulic pressure chamberis made to communicate with a hydraulic pressure generating sourcewhile a communication between the boosted hydraulic pressure chamberand a reservoir R is interrupted, a state where the communication between the boosted pressure chamberand the hydraulic pressure generating sourceis interrupted while the boosted pressure chamberis made to communicate with the reservoir R, and a state where the boosted hydraulic pressure chamberis disconnected from both the hydraulic pressure generating sourceand the reservoir R.

Vehicle brake apparatus

A pressure regulating valve unit is configured to regulate the output hydraulic pressure of a hydraulic pressure generating source through electrical control for application to a boosted hydraulic pressure chamber, and a release valve is interposed between the boosted hydraulic pressure chamber and a reservoir which is adapted to the hydraulic pressure in the boosted hydraulic pressure chamber to the reservoir side when the pressure regulating valve unit fails.

An annular inward turned flange and a plurality of ribs are integrally molded on an inner peripheral surface of an cylindrical portion formed at an upper portion of a reservoir for a master cylinder. The ribs extend from a lower surface of the flange and are disposed in a distributed manner in a circumferential direction of the flange. An annular flat surface area is formed on an upper surface of the flange, and a tip end of a working oil filler is placed into close contact with the annular flat surface area. Thus, when a working oil is filled under pressure into the master cylinder and its output hydraulic pressure circuit through the reservoir by the working oil filler, the urging force from the working oil filler can be reliably supported, and the deformation of the reservoir by a filling pressure cannot be produced.

A traction control method for a vehicle according to the present invention for generating braking forces in the brake devices for driving wheels when excessive slipping has occurred in the drive wheels involves an independent control mode for independently controlling respective braking forces of the plurality of drive-wheel brake devices and a collective control mode for collectively controlling the braking forces. These two control modes are interchangeable with each other. This enables traction control which can insure both reliable driving force and high stability.

Traction control through collective or independent wheel braking

A hydraulic pressure control system has a hydraulic pressure control valve which includes a spool slidably received in a housing for axial sliding movement between a rear position in which it permits the communication between an output port and a release port and a front position in which it permits communication between an input port and the output port. The hydraulic pressure control system also has a reaction chamber connected to the output port for providing a hydraulic pressure for biasing the spool rearwardly, and an input pressure working chamber for providing a hydraulic pressure for biasing the spool forwardly, a differential pressure regulating valve is interposed between the output port and the reaction chamber and adapted to be opened in response to the hydraulic pressure from the output port becoming higher than the hydraulic pressure in the reaction chamber by a predetermined value therefor. At an initial stage of the beginning of application of the hydraulic pressure to the input pressure working chamber, the application of the hydraulic pressure to the reaction chamber is cut off, so that the output hydraulic pressure from the output port can be rapidly increased with the spool kept located in the front position to provide a smooth initial operation of the hydraulically operated device connected to the output port.

A method for traction control of a vehicle, includes detecting a slipping tendency of a drive wheel in a driven state, and controlling the braking force of a drive wheel brake device in an increasing and decreasing manner in accordance with the degree of the detected slipping tendency, wherein a rapid increase mode of rapidly increasing the braking force of the drive wheel brake device and a slow increase mode of slowly increasing the braking force can be switched from one to the other, so that at an initial stage in increasing the braking force of the drive wheel brake device on the basis of the decision that the drive wheel is in an excessive slipping tendency, the braking force is increased in the rapid increase mode.

Method for traction control of vehicle

In a hydraulic braking pressure control system including an auxiliary hydraulic pressure generating unit capable of generating a hydraulic pressure in accordance with the braking operation of a brake pedal, and a hydraulic pressure supply source hydraulic pressure control unit interposed between a hydraulic pressure supply source and a brake device for controlling the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pressure supply source in accordance with the braking operation of the brake pedal, the hydraulic pressure chamber in the auxiliary hydraulic pressure generating unit is connected to the supply source hydraulic pressure control unit, so that the output hydraulic pressure therefrom is applied as a control pressure. When the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pressure supply source has been abnormally reduced, a braking pressure from the auxiliary hydraulic pressure generating unit is applied to the brake device in response to an opening of the on-off valve. During braking in a condition in which the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pressure supply source is normal, the operation of the hydraulic pressure regulating unit avoids the hydraulic pressure from the auxiliary hydraulic pressure generating unit from being applied to the brake device.

Hydraulic braking pressure control system

An apparatus for diagnosing a fault of a hydraulic pressure source, including a fluid tank, a pump for pumping up fluid from the fluid tank, an accumulator for accumulating the fluid pumped up by the pump, a pressure detector for detecting a pressure of the fluid in the accumulator and generating an output signal, a pump drive or motor responsive to the output signal for driving the pump, and an electromagnetic valve of normally closed type interposed either in a flow path between the accumulator and a hydraulic pressure instrument or in a flow path between the tank and the hydraulic pressure instrument. This apparatus comprises an excitation signal generator for generating an excitation signal which excites the electromagnetic valve for a predetermined period of time, and a control unit for determing an anomaly on the basis of the output signal from the pressure detector. If any fault exists in the hydraulic pressure source, fall and rise of the hydraulic pressure is not effected normally. The control unit determines whether the variation of the hydraulic pressure is normal or abnormal on the basis of the output signal from the pressure detector.

Fault diagnostic apparatus for a hydraulic pressure source

In a hydraulic braking pressure control system comprising an auxiliary hydraulic pressure generator connected to a brake device for generating a hydraulic pressure depending upon a braking operation by a brake pedal; a supply source; a supply source pressure control device controlling the pressure from the supply source in accordance with the braking operation by the brake pedal; pressure transmitting device interposed in a hydraulic pressure path extending from the supply source via the supply source pressure control device to the brake device arranged to permit the transmission of the hydraulic pressure output from the supply source pressure control device to the brake device when the hydraulic pressure in the supply source is normal and to cut off the flowing of a working fluid from the brake device toward the supply source when the hydraulic pressure in the supply source is abnormally reduced; and an on-off valve interposed between the auxiliary hydraulic pressure generator and the brake device, having a pilot chamber leading to an output port of the supply source pressure control device, and adapted to be closed in response to an increase in the hydraulic pressure in the pilot chamber. The on-off valve is closed by rising of the output hydraulic pressure from the supply source pressure control device prior to rising of the output hydraulic pressure from the auxiliary hydraulic pressure generator during a braking operation by the brake pedal.
