An apparatus for manufacturing a complete wire harness from a plurality of wire harnesses have a first transferring unit, an inserting unit and a removing unit. The first transferring unit transfers a wire clamping bar, which holds a partial harness having a plurality of electric wires, to a wire-harness fabricating station. The inserting unit inserts terminals disposed at ends of the plurality of electric wires into predetermined terminal accommodating chambers of predetermined connectors set on a connector receiving jig. The removing unit removes the emptied wire clamping bar.

Apparatus for manufacturing a complete wire harness from a plurality of partial harnesses

A wire harness is made up of a plurality of partial harnesses. Each of the partial harnesses is arranged such that opposite end portions of a plurality of electric wires having terminals at ends thereof are retained in advance in U-shapes with predetermined intervals provided so as to correspond to a plurality of connectors into which the terminals are inserted, by a plurality of wire clamps juxtaposed at equal pitches on a wire clamping bar. The terminals at the ends of the plurality of electric wires in each of the partial harnesses are inserted into terminal accommodating chambers of predetermined connectors selected from the plurality of connectors, thereby aggregating the partial harnesses into a combined unit.

Wire harness and method for manufacturing the same

A wire harness manufacturing system which issue a working instruction for manufacturing a wire harness to a worker using a network composed of an upstream network and a downstream network, comprising: a clamping pole having a plurality of wire clamps; a jig having a designating portion corresponding to each clamp; a first computer for managing data necessary to manufacture wire harnesses; a second computer for creating an operation instruction file; a third computer for checking the operation instruction file against a master file to create data available for all manufacturing steps; a fourth computer for allotting the file data processed by the third computer to each wire clamping pole, a server for supplying the operation instruction file data to the downstream network; a plurality of information terminal devices which are connected to the servers to requite data necessary for actual operations and provide each designation signal to said designating portion; and a scanner for supplying the number of the claiming pole to a certain information terminal device. In this wire harness manufacturing system, any beginner can manufacture the wire harness easily.

Wire harness manufacturing system

A connector terminal checking device includes a base, a conduction checking part rotatably supported by the base to check the conductive condition of a connector to be checked, an abutting part attached to the base to come into contact with a rear end of the connector mounted on the conduction checking part arranged in a conduction check position, a compression spring for urging the conduction checking part against a stand-by position and a solenoid for holding the conduction checking part in the conduction check position when checking the connector. In an initial state of the device, the solenoid is not energized, so that the conduction checking part is moved in the stand-by position by the compression spring. After the connector is inserted into the conduction checking part, it is pressed to the conduction check position by an operator. During checking, the solenoid is energized to maintain the conduction checking part in the conduction checking position. After checking, the solenoid is inactivated, so that the conduction checking part is raised from the base by the compression spring.

Connector terminal checking device and method of checking connector

Disclosed is a tester for testing a connector provided with at least one axial terminal hole and at least one terminal which is correspondingly fitted into said at least one terminal hole, the tester having at least one probe unit which is moved with a movable body and adapted for corresponding introduction into said at least one terminal hole for testing fitting of the terminal. The probe unit comprises: a tubular case fixed to the movable body; a movable probe and a fixed probe being made of an electrically conductive material and being aligned inside the tubular case, the fixed probe being fixed to the tubular case and insulated from the tubular case and adapted for connecting to an output line, and the movable probe being slidably supported by the tubular case so as to move in an axial direction of the tubular case relative to the tubular case to connect to and disconnect from the fixed probe; and a regulator for regulating the movable probe to disconnect from the fixed probe when the corresponding terminal is not so firmly fitted to the corresponding terminal hole as fitting of the corresponding terminal can be sustained against a predetermined magnitude of force. The tubular case is integrally formed with a support portion and made of a synthetic resin such as polyacetal or fluorine plastics and having a kinetic coefficient of friction which is less than or equal to 0.15.

Probe tester for electrical connector assembly

A rod-type switch including: a tube-like body; a conductor conducting tube fixed in the middle part of the body; a contact having on one end thereof an insulating rod extending inside the conductor tube, the other end of the contact projecting from one end of the body; a spring resiliently the contact biasing so that a part of the contact is caused to project from the body; and an electrode rod supported by the body while insulated therefrom and biased in a direction of the conductor tube by a spring so that a contact portion of the rod contacts an end of the conductor tube. As a result of the construction, an electrical circuit is formed by the body, the conductor tube and the contact portion of the electrode rod, and a switch is formed by relative movement of the contact portion with respect to the end of the conductor tube.
