A tube bundle heat exchanger has tubes which are held at each side in tube plates or oval-tube collecting-tube plates and are connected to these in each case by means of a weld seam. The connection of the tubes to the inlet-side tube plate or oval-tube collecting-tube plate is formed in each case by means of a conical and/or trumpet-shaped transition piece. The cross section of the transition piece reduces as viewed in the gas flow direction in such a way that the inlet-side end, as viewed in the gas flow direction, of the transition piece is connected in a buttjoint to the tube plate or oval-tube collecting-tube plate. The inner and outer contours of the transition piece and of the welded connection region are formed without gaps and comers to the tube plate or oval tube collecting-tube plate and so as to be straight and/or with a radius, measured from the outer contour, of at least 5 mm.

Tube bundle heat exchanger

A tube bundle heat exchanger has tubes which are held at each side in tube plates or oval-tube collecting-tube plates and are connected to these in each case by means of a weld seam. The connection of the tubes to the inlet-side tube plate or oval-tube collecting-tube plate is formed in each case by means of a conical and/or trumpet-shaped transition piece. The cross section of the transition piece reduces as viewed in the gas flow direction in such a way that the inlet-side end, as viewed in the gas flow direction, of the transition piece is connected in a butt joint to the tube plate or oval-tube collecting-tube plate. The inner and outer contours of the transition piece and of the welded connection region are formed without gaps and corners to the tube plate or oval tube collecting-tube plate and so as to be straight and/or with a radius, measured from the outer contour, of at least 5 mm.

A tube bundle heat exchanger includes tubes channeling a gas flow and a pressure shell enclosing the tubes channeling a coolant flow. First and second nozzles are disposed at a rear end of the pressure shell and third and fourth nozzles are disposed at a front end of the pressure shell. A feed pipe includes a first three-way valve and a drain pipe includes a second three-way valve. A first bypass pipe is connected to the first three-way valve and the third nozzle, a second bypass pipe is connected to the first three-way valve and the first nozzle, a third bypass pipe is connected to the second three-way valve and the second nozzle, and a fourth bypass pipe is connected to the second three-way valve and the fourth nozzle. One of the three-way valves is controllable.

Tube bundle heat exchanger for controlling a wide performance range

A waste heat boiler includes an axial bypass pipe and multiple heat transfer pipes disposed within a cylindrical jacket. A hot exhaust gas stream transported between inlet and outlet ends of the heat transfer pipes is cooled by a coolant. A control system controls gas passage velocity and quantity of the exhaust gas stream through the bypass pipe whereby the exhaust gas stream exhaust temperature is maintained within a predetermined temperature range. The control system includes a stopper disposed at the outlet end of the bypass pipe and has a head plate extending into the outlet end of the bypass pipe. The stopper is axially displaceable from a closed position, where an outer surface of the stopper head plate contacts an inner surface of the bypass pipe outlet end. The gas passage formed between the inner surface of the bypass pipe outlet end and the outer surface of the stopper head plate has a cross-section that increases as the stopper is axially displaced from the closed position. The stopper is cooled by a cooling medium.

Waste heat boiler

A steam generator for converting water to steam by the transfer of heat from a heating medium includes two or more water/steam circuits. Each water/steam circuit has at least one evaporator for transferring the heat from the heating medium to the water. A single water/steam drum receives steam or water and steam from the evaporators. A descending pipe has at least one bypass, from which the supply pipes of the respective water/steam circuits branch off, and a venturi device in the area of the bypass. The inlet opening of the supply pipe of at least one water/steam circuit is disposed in the area of diffuser-shaped outlet of the venturi device such that the supply pipe section acts as a dynamic compression pipe in order to increase the pressure of the working medium in this circuit. Steam generator

The structural integrity and coolant flow characteristics of a heat exchanger which employs double tubes is improved by providing a structural element, which defines an annular chamber through which coolant may flow, about the internal structure which supports the opposite ends of the double tubes. The outer wall of the structure which defines each of the annular chambers in alignment with and welded to, a casing which in part defines a gas entry or exit chamber axially disposed at a first side of the internal tube support structure and to an external support ring located axially at the other side of the internal tube support structure.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger having coaxial inner and outer conduits is characterized by a flow intercepting body which extends into the inner conduit to thereby divide the length of the heat exchanger into two sections with different heat exchange characteristics. Adjustment of the temperature of gases exiting the heat exchanger may be accomplished by varying the ratio of the lengths of the two sections of the heat exchanger.

Heat exchangers

An adaptive control technique, in which the duty cycle of a vibrational cleaning device for the heat exchange surfaces of a steam generator is automatically adapted to the current state of dirt accumulation on the surfaces. To ascertain the degree of dirt accumulation, the number of strokes of the drive cylinder of a fluidic actuator of the vibrational device is measured in a short interval at the beginning of each cleaning cycle and compared with a reference value. The cleaning cycle length or vibration period within the cycle is either lengthened or shortened commensurate with the results of the comparison and in this way the duty cycle of the vibrational device is continuously adapted to the current need for cleaning.
