A transportation vehicle, infrastructure, a transceiver, an apparatus, a method, and a computer program for determining a physical layer configuration for a radio link for a communication system. The method for determining a physical layer configuration for a radio link at a first transceiver to communicate with a second transceiver via the radio link includes obtaining information related to an environment and a state of movement of the first and second transceivers, estimating a radio condition of the radio link based on the information related to the environment and the state of movement of the first and second transceivers, and determining the physical layer configuration for the radio link based on the radio condition.
