A light emitting diode chip and a light emitting diode display apparatus comprising the same, are disclosed in which a screen defect caused by a defect of the light emitting diode chip is minimized. The light emitting diode chip comprises a semiconductor substrate; first and second light emitting diodes provided on the semiconductor substrate in parallel with each other while having first and second pads; a first electrode commonly connected to the first pad of each of the first and second light emitting diodes; and a second electrode commonly connected to the second pad of each of the first and second light emitting diodes, wherein the first and second light emitting diodes are electrically connected to each other in parallel.

There may be provided a backlight unit and a display device with enhanced light absorption of light of an absorption wavelength band and enhanced color gamut, by including a color conversion layer (or color conversion film) for converting the wavelength band of the light emitted from a light source and a light absorption layer (or light absorption film) for absorbing light of a specific absorption wavelength band, in an area adjacent the light source.

Light emitting diode chip and apparatus with reduced screen defect

A light-emitting diode (LED) chip and a display device having the same are provided. A green LED is regrown on a blue LED to produce blue and green light, and a red phosphor is disposed on the blue or green LED to produce red light. Red light, green light, and blue light are to be produced using a single LED chip. The single LED chip forms three subpixels therein so as to facilitate a transfer process of the LED chip to a display panel. The LED chip is configured based on the blue, green, and blue LEDs so as to facilitate the fabrication and driving of the LED chip.
