A dynamic configuration of crest factor reduction in a licensed assisted access radio system. A processing device comprises a detecting block, a clipping pulse generator, a first storage block, a selecting block, a full clipping block and a simplified clipping block. The detecting block performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure on a plurality of carriers in parallel and generates a trigger signal in response to LBT success on one or more carriers. The clipping pulse generator generates, for the carrier(s) with LBT success, a clipping pulse within a time period from the receipt of the trigger signal to the start of user traffic transmission. The first storage block stores the clipping pulse for use by the full clipping block. The selecting block selects the full clipping block when there is user traffic on the carrier(s) and selects the simplified clipping block when there is no user traffic on the carrier(s).

The method comprises iteratively adjusting, based on a computed peak power value for a combined transmission signal including respective components of a plurality of frequency resource units, a phase rotation vector which is applied to said respective components of said plurality of frequency resource units to perform phase rotation on said respective components of said plurality of frequency resource units, until a newly-computed peak power value dependent upon the adjusted phase rotation vector is lower than or equal to a pre-defined peak power threshold or an iteration number reaches a pre-defined maximum value; performing phase rotation on said respective components of said plurality of frequency resource units by applying the adjusted phase rotation vector; and transmitting the combined transmission signal of said respective components of said plurality of frequency resource units phase-rotated by said adjusted phase rotation vector. Method and apparatus for peak to average power ratio reduction

The invention discloses an adaptive phase shift method in a multi-carrier system, comprising: generating a group of one or more new phase values for corresponding one or more phase shift carriers, PSCs, based on quantization phase values; calculating and comparing a backward maximum power in an evaluation path with the group of one or more new phase values in one timeslot and a forward maximum power in a working path with current phase values in the timeslot; and adjusting phase of the PSCs based on the group of one or more new phase values if the calculated backward maximum power is less than the calculated forward maximum power. An adaptive phase shift apparatus is also disclosed. With the invention, complexity of the implementation is reduced and a small DPS block resource, low Hardware cost, low power consumption is also achieved.
