There is provided a system for use with a set of generators. The system includes a processor and a memory including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform certain operations. The operations can include receiving a command and receiving a signal indicative of a current of at least one generator in the set of generators. The operations can further include causing, based on the command and the signal, a controller to adjust a voltage level of at least one other generator in the set of generators.

Method and system for load sharing among multiple DC generators

An apparatus and method for a generator assembly for a drive train such as a rotatable turbine engine assembly. The generator assembly includes at least first and second generators mechanically coupled to the drive train. First and second dampers are operably coupled to the first and second generators, respectively, to selectively damp the first and second generators. Damping the first and second generators can reduce or eliminate both common mode and differential mode torsional oscillations from the generators to the drive train.

The power converter includes a first phase including a first upper diode and a first lower diode, a second phase including a second upper diode and a second lower diode, a third phase including a third upper diode and a third lower diode, a plurality of MOSFETs, each of the first upper diode, the first lower diode, the second upper diode, the second lower diode, the third upper diode, and the third lower diode electrically connected in parallel with a respective one of the plurality of MOSFETs, and a control system configured to selectively activate each MOSFET when current flows through a diode electrically coupled in parallel with that MOSFET.

An apparatus and method of operating a set of generators supplying power to a common power bus, includes obtaining a first generator speed signal and a second generator speed signal, determining a common mode torsional oscillation value and a differential mode torsional oscillation value, determining a first generator share command and a second generator share command based on the common mode torsional oscillation value and the differential mode torsional oscillation value, and applying the first and second generator share commands.

Method and system for operating a set of generators

An aircraft starting and generating system includes a starter/generator that includes a main machine, an exciter, and a permanent magnet generator. The system also includes an inverter/converter/controller that is connected to the starter/generator and that generates AC power to drive the starter/generator in a start mode for starting a prime mover of the aircraft, and that converts AC power, obtained from the starter/generator after the prime mover have been started, to DC power in a generate mode of the starter/generator. A main bridge gate driver is configured to drive a MOSFET-based bridge during start mode using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) and during generate mode using reverse conduction based inactive rectification.

Aircraft starting and generating system

Systems and methods for transferring power delivery between power sources to an electrical bus are provided. More particularly, a multi-source electrical power system can include an electrical bus having at least two power sources that each can be selectively coupled to the electrical bus, for instance, via contactors. At least one of the power sources can include a unidirectional or bidirectional power converter. The electrical power system can further include a control system configured to control the power output (e.g., the output voltage and the output current) of the power converter to provide no break power transfer of power delivery to the electrical bus between the first and second power sources. In example embodiments, the no break power transfer can be achieved by regulating the output current of a power source to a fixed current value and/or by using a virtual resistance programmed into a voltage regulator.

No break power transfer for multi-source electrical power system

A circuit and method for allocating power among two or more generators to a single load on a shared bus includes a sharing regulator and a feedback loop for each generator. A digital share command input and current in the feedback loops will cause the sharing regulators to alter the power of the generators at the generator outputs, thereby allocating the load on the shared bus according to the share command, and confirming the allocation of power at the outputs.
