A high brightness light engine apparatus is disclosed, comprising at least one long red wavelength light source with a peak wavelength longer than 630 nm, at least one green wavelength light source and at least one blue wavelength light source. Furthermore, the long wavelength red light may be combined with short wavelength red light and green/blue lights into a co-axial light path by at least one beam combiner such as wedged dichroic mirror, X-plate dichroic mirror or a dichroic X-cube. A 3-channels/4-channels/5-channels light engine apparatus and a hybrid laser LED light engine apparatus are disclosed that comprises at least a long wavelength red light source, one blue light source, and one converted green light source, combined by a dichroic mirror together with a X-plate dichroic mirror, a wedged dichroic mirror or a dichroic X-cube without Etendue increase to achieve high brightness light engine output as high as 5000 lm.

Multi-channels high brightness light engine apparatus

An autofocus projection apparatus having focal-length fine adjustment is disclosed. A projection light engine including the same is also disclosed. The autofocus projection apparatus comprises a projection lens system, which comprises a first lens group, a second lens group, an aperture stop, a third lens group and a forth lens group arranged from a long conjugate side to a short conjugate side; a stepper motor, a control board, and a time-of-flight (TOF) distance measurement module; wherein the stepper motor is connected to an inner barrel for enclosing the second group lens through an adjustment level and only moves the second lens group for autofocus adjustment based on projection distances measured by the TOF distance measurement module. A 3D TOF module which includes a modulated flash light emitter and a CMOS camera sensor, can be used for automatic keystone correction as well as autofocus distance detection in the projection light engine.

A compact size light engine apparatus is disclosed, comprising at least a wedged dichroic mirror or a dichroic X-plate/cube to combine multiple RGB LEDs, and a folded light path assembly with a folding mirror or a right-angle prism for a miniaturized light engine system. Furthermore, the compact size light engine apparatus may comprise at least a long red wavelength light source with peak wavelength over 630 nm. A 2-channel/3-channel/4-channel compact size light engine configuration is disclosed that comprise at least one red light source, one blue light source, and one green light source, combined by a wedged dichroic mirror or a dichroic X-plate/cube into co-axis light path without Etendue increase and illuminate digital mirror device (DMD) micro-display and afterwards project the image from the micro-display onto the screen through projection lens.

Compact size multi-channel light engine projection apparatus

Systems including light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are provided. The systems include one or more wavelength-converting member(s) that is/are remote from the emission surface of one or more LED-based light source(s). The wavelength-converting member may be separated from the emission surface of a first LED and positioned such that light emitted from the first LED is absorbed by the wavelength-converting material. The wavelength-converting material emits secondary light having a different wavelength than the wavelength of the light emitted from the first LED. The systems may include a second light source comprising a second LED configured to emit light having a wavelength from an emission surface and a wavelength-combining element configured to combine the secondary light from the wavelength-converting member and the light emitted from the second light source to form a co-axial light beam.
