The present disclosure is related to a family of oil-based dispersions of organic and inorganic metal compounds for use as a hydrogen sulfide scavenger in asphalt, and the preparation thereof. These dispersions comprise organic and inorganic metal compounds, organic solvents, an organoclay suspension agent, an emulsifier and optionally a polymeric stabilizer. The organic and inorganic metal compounds are in the form of micron-sized particles. Copper-based dispersions are particularly effective at reducing the hydrogen sulfide emission of asphalt in the presence of polyphosphoric acid.

Metal-based hydrogen sulfide scavenger and method of preparing same

Disclosed are compositions derived of mixtures of choline ion salts (typically choline chloride) in aqueous solution with suspended particulates of sparingly soluble borate minerals or with alkali or alkaline earth borate salts, boric acid and its ester derivatives and salts, or other aqueous soluble borate forms. These compositions are useful as cross-linkers for polysaccharides and other biopolymers and particularly as used in subterranean treatment fluids for completion and stimulation of oil and gas wells. Advantages of the compositions are the combination into a single package of the properties of clay stabilizing actives (choline ion) and crosslinking actives (borates, etc.), in relatively high concentrations, and these compositions are easy to handle, being stable and pumpable at low temperatures, and with attractive environmental profiles. Also disclosed are the analogous choline solutions mixed with metallic cross-linking ions know in the art such as Zr, Ti, Al, & Fe.

Choline-based crosslinker compositions for fracturing fluids

The present invention is directed to fracturing fluids having temperature-sensitive viscosities. The fracturing fluids may include a mixture of a hydrophobically associative polymer (HAP) and a surfactant in an aqueous medium, wherein the surfactant imparts a critical solution temperature (CST) to the fluid. The fluid is more viscous at temperatures lower than the CST as compared to temperatures above the CST.

A film of a carboxylated polymer of formula (I): wherein the sum of x, y and z is an integer from 10 to 10,000 and degree of hydrolysis is 0.05 or greater provides gas separation materials in which the degree of hydrolysis may be used to tune the selectivity of the gases to an optimal required range. Such films may be prepared by casting a film of a polymer of formula (II): wherein n is an integer from 10 to 10,000, and hydrolyzing all or a portion of the &#x2014;CN groups to form &#x2014;COOH groups.
