Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may select one or more transmission types for communication on a plurality of beams during a time period based at least in part on transmission type priorities, and communicate on the plurality of beams during the time period based at least in part on selecting the one or more transmission types for communication. In some other aspects, a base station may receive an indication of one or more transmission types that a user equipment selected for communication on a plurality of beams during a time period and receive the one or more transmission types the UE selected for communication on the plurality of beams. In some further aspects, a network node for wireless communications may determine configuration information for a positioning reference signal, PRS, operation by a user equipment and transmit the configuration information to a base station that schedules communications for the UE. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Transmission type selection for beam switching

A method of cross validating a positioning reference signal includes: measuring, at a first UE, a first PRS resource to determine a first PRS measurement; receiving, from a second UE via sidelink communication, a second PRS measurement of a second PRS resource; and determining whether at least one of the first PRS measurement or the second PRS measurement is unreliable based on a relationship of the first PRS measurement to the second PRS measurement.

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a repeater receives, from a network entity, a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration or an indicator of the PRS configuration, the PRS configuration specifying one or more PRS resources of one or more PRS resource sets, and transmits, to one or more user equipments (UEs), a PRS waveform representing the one or more PRS resources of the one or more PRS resource sets in accordance with the PRS configuration.

Resource allocation for repeater-assisted positioning reference signal (PRS) transmission

Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to perform positioning using virtual anchors and/or positioning reference units. In one aspect, a UE transmits a request for assistance data for performing UE-based positioning, where the request includes at least one of location information of the UE or a list of anchors observed by the UE. The UE receives the assistance data for the UE-based positioning, where the assistance data includes a list of virtual anchors and a list of positioning reference units (PRUs) that includes a set of virtual PRUs (VPRUs), where the list of virtual anchors and the list of PRUs are selected based on at least one of the location information of the UE or the list of anchors observed by the UE. The UE performs the UE-based positioning using at least one virtual anchor and at least one VPRU in the assistance data.

Techniques are provided in which a target UE can be provided with a processing window (PW) configuration that defines a PW during which the target UE may measure one or more RS resources. The PW optionally may allow the target UE to transmit an uplink (UL) RS. The PW configuration may be provided to the target UE by a serving base station of the target UE in response to a request for the PW configuration by the target UE or a location server. The request may include information regarding an RS configuration provided to the target UE.

Processing window design for positioning

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support positioning reference signal (PRS)-assisted beam management. In particular, various aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a network entity to select a beam of a plurality of beams for communications between a base station and a user equipment (UE) based on line-of-sight (LOS) path detection results. In some implementations, the LOS path detection results may include an indication as to whether a PRS includes an LOS path signal and/or an NLOS, and/or a signal strength of the LOS path signal, as well as other information that a network entity (e.g., a UE or a base station) may use in a beam management procedure (e.g., to select a beam). Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Positioning reference signals (PRS)-assisted beam management for communication

In an aspect, a location server may receive a request to determine a position of a first mobile device at a first scheduled time. The location server may determine a first position of a second mobile device during a first time window before the first scheduled time. The location server may configure the second mobile device to perform positioning operations during a second time window corresponding to the first scheduled time to assist in the determination of the position of the first mobile device at the first scheduled time.

Disclosed are various techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) identifies a set of positioning sources, each positioning source comprising a positioning reference signal (PRS) resource, a PRS resource set, a PRS frequency layer, and/or a transmission/reception point (TRP). From the set of positioning sources, the UE identifies a consistency group comprising a collection of positioning sources grouped based on expected values of at least one metric of a reference signal from each positioning source, measured values of the at least one metric for the reference signal from each positioning source, and an error threshold. The UE identifies one or more subsets of positioning sources within the consistency group, each subset having at least one metric error value. The UE reports, to a network entity, information about the consistency group and information about at least one of the subsets of positioning sources within the consistency group.

Prioritization of positioning-related reports in uplink

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a relative location anchor group (RLAG) may facilitate a position estimation procedure in an environment where absolute position estimation accuracy is below a threshold. An absolute position estimate derived via the RLAG may optionally be transformed to a true (or more accurate) position estimate via transformation information. In some cases, new anchors may be added to the RLAG after performing a position estimation procedure with the RLAG. In other designs, a local coordinate system (LCS) may be used for position estimation in lieu of a global coordinate system (GCS), such as WGS 84.

Techniques for detecting non-line-of-sight (NLOS) wireless signal paths are described. In some embodiments, a method thereof may include receiving positioning information from one or more networked devices, the positioning information comprising information indicative of measurements of one or more wireless signals transmitted between one or more wireless network nodes and one or more UEs, location data indicative of a location of each of the one or more UEs, or a combination thereof; determining a commonality associated with the received positioning information; and based on the determined commonality, determining that the NLOS wireless signal path is present between the given UE and the one or more wireless network nodes.

Detecting non-line-of-sight wireless signal paths

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits a request for a first set of base stations to transmit on demand positioning reference signals (PRS) in a first band, measures the on demand PRS from the first set of base stations in the first band, measures periodic PRS from a second set of base stations operating in a second band, and sends, to a positioning entity, positioning measurements of at least the on demand PRS and the periodic PRS.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE, and may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response if it is available for a data transmission. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response if it objects to the data transmission. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the subset of the data resources to the second UE.

Distributed sidelink resource allocation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a failure event for a beam or a link, between the UE and a base station, is occurring or will occur, and transmit a message to the base station indicating that the UE is refraining from performing a recovery procedure for the beam or a link for a time duration. Suspension of beam or link recovery for a failure event

According to embodiments herein, assistance data may be provided to a UE regarding an anchor UE that provides a reference signal via the SL interface to the UE. Assistance data may include information indicative of the coordinates, height, drift rate, beam characteristics, group delay, and/or other aspects of the anchor UE. The assistance data may be provided to the UE by a location server, a base station, or directly from the anchor UE.
