Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling scheduling a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission that overlap in the time domain. The UE may simultaneously transmit the PUSCH and PUCCH transmissions if the scheduled quantity of layers for the PUSCH transmission (or the scheduled quantity of layers for the PUSCH transmission and the PUCCH transmission) does not exceed an indicated maximum quantity of layers for PUSCH transmissions (or PUSCH and PUCCH transmissions). For a codebook based PUSCH transmission, the UE may simultaneously transmit the PUSCH and PUCCH transmissions if the scheduled quantity of antenna ports for the PUSCH transmission (or the scheduled quantity of antenna ports for the PUSCH transmission and the PUCCH transmission) does not exceed an indicated maximum quantity of ports for PUSCH transmissions (or PUSCH and PUCCH transmissions).

Overlapping physical uplink control channel and physical uplink shared channel transmissions

Techniques are provide for passive positioning of user equipment (UE) with analog beamforming. An example method for positioning a user equipment includes receiving a first positioning reference signal from a first base station at a first time, receiving a first timing difference value based on two or more positioning reference signals transmitted from the first base station, receiving a second positioning reference signal from a second base station at a second time, receiving a second timing difference value based on two or more positioning reference signals transmitted from the second base station, and determining a time difference of arrival between the first positioning reference signal and the second positioning reference signal based at least in part on the first timing difference value and the second timing difference value.

Passive positioning with analog beamforming

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to transmit feedback information via a configurable quantity of interlaced resource blocks (IRBs) in one or more interlaces of a sidelink feedback channel. For example, the UE may transmit feedback via multiple IRBs of an interlace. The UE may determine which IRBs to use in accordance with a configuration, which may indicate a quantity of IRBs, a distribution of the IRBs, a pattern of the IRBs, or any combination thereof. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may determine to transmit feedback via multiple IRBs of an interlace that is different from a common interlace.

Sidelink feedback for increased capacity

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a fixed frame period (FFP) configured for the UE in a frame based equipment mode. The FFP configured for the UE includes one or more idle periods and a channel occupancy time that is offset from an FFP configured for a base station communicating with the UE over an unlicensed channel. The UE may refrain from transmitting over the unlicensed channel during the one or more idle periods. The one or more idle periods may at least partially overlap with a time period in which the base station refrains from transmitting over the unlicensed channel. Numerous other aspects are provided.

User equipment fixed frame period for frame based equipment mode in unlicensed spectrum

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support backscatter-based positioning. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes transmitting a configuration signal that indicates a tag address of a tag device and a modulation scheme for generation of a backscatter signal. The method also includes transmitting a positioning reference signal (PRS) after transmission of the configuration signal. The method further includes receiving, from the tag device, a backscatter signal based on the modulation scheme and the PRS. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Backscatter-based positioning

Mechanisms for directional channel occupancy monitoring for a frequency band among multiple networks are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes monitoring, in a shared frequency band in a plurality of beam directions, for signals associated with one or more wireless networks different from the first wireless network. The monitoring includes: detecting, in the shared frequency band and in at least a first beam direction of the plurality of beam directions, a first signal associated with a second wireless network; and up-dating a channel occupancy list to indicate that at least a portion of the shared frequency band is occupied in at least the first beam direction. The method also includes transmitting, in the shared frequency band, a second signal in a second beam direction of the plurality of beam directions based on the channel occupancy list.

Directional channel occupancy monitoring for spectrum sharing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may transmit, in a first slot within a channel occupancy time (COT), a first communication; determine whether one or more transmission criteria are satisfied for transmission of a second communication in a second slot within the COT; and selectively transmit the second communication in the second slot within the COT based at least in part on a result of determining whether the one or more transmission criteria are satisfied. Discontinuous transmission in shared channel occupancy time for sidelink communication in unlicensed spectrum

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for signaling a user equipment (UE) to put a sidelink (SL) component carrier (CC) into dormancy or take the SL CC out of dormancy, such as mode 1 or mode 2 sidelink communications. In one example, a method performed by a UE includes receiving an indication to put a first CC into dormancy; and putting an SL CC into a dormant state in response to the indication. In another example, a method includes transmitting an indication that the first UE will put an SL CC into a dormant state; and receiving an acknowledgment (ACK) of the indication.

Dormancy indication in sidelink communication systems

Methods, systems, and devices for communications management are described. In one example, a method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) is described. The method may include receiving a configuration of a first search space (SS) set and a second SS set and identifying a link between the first SS set and the second SS set for physical downlink control channel repetition. The method may also include identifying one or more monitoring occasions in the first SS set or the second SS set to monitor for downlink control information based at least in part on an overlap rule associated with the link between the first SS set and the second SS set for physical downlink control channel repetition. The method may include monitoring the identified one or more monitoring occasions in at least the first SS set or the second SS set for the downlink control information.

Resolving ambiguities for search space set linking for physical downlink control channel repetition

Disclosed are methods and systems for monitoring control channel candidates in a common search space (or a common search space set) in a wireless communication network. One of the methods is performed at a user equipment (UE). The method comprises: determining a first set of parameters for configuring a first set of monitoring occasions for the UE to monitor control channel candidates in a common search space (CSS); transmitting, to a network entity, an indication indicating the first set of parameters; and monitoring control channel candidates in the CSS during the first set of monitoring occasions.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a remote radio head (RRH), a protocol configuration, wherein the protocol configuration configures the RRH to perform one or more MAC protocol layer functions of the UE. Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for transmission of downlink feedback information using downlink control information format 0_2 are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station on a first subband, a downlink control information (DCI) having a first predetermined DCI format or a second predetermined DCI format, in which the second predetermined DCI format has a length smaller than the first predetermined DCI format. The UE also may determine that the DCI indicates a downlink feedback information (DFI) based on one or more of an indication in the DCI or a first predetermined scrambling code associated with the DCI, when the DCI is received with the second predetermined DCI format.

Various aspects relate to initial physical random access channel (PRACH) power control using multiple PRACH signals, and more particularly to supporting one or more initialization and power control operations between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity prior to an association process. The initial PRACH power control may include the UE transmitting, to the network entity, a first set of PRACH signals at different respective power levels. The network entity may transmit a response message indicating a single set of PRACH signals detected by the network entity, and the UE may detect whether a first PRACH signal, of the first set of PRACH signals, is included in the single set of PRACH signals to select a power level associated with the first PRACH signal for transmitting association messages.

Initial physical random access channel (PRACH) power control using multiple PRACH signals

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining a time to stop monitoring a wireless channel for paging information. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may identify a plurality of paging occasions associated with a wireless channel (e.g., of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band) and monitor the wireless channel for paging information from a base station during a first paging occasion of the plurality of paging occasions. The UE may determine a channel occupancy status of the base station with respect to the wireless channel and may determine a time to stop monitoring the wireless channel for paging information. The UE may ignore a remainder of the plurality of paging occasions based on the determined time to stop monitoring the wireless channel.
