A liquid crystal display (LCD) including a display panel and a source driver is provided. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels arranged in an array. The source driver is coupled to the display panel and includes a plurality of source lines. Each of the source lines of the source driver is responsible for performing the pixel-writing to six corresponding pixel columns in the display panel.

A touch-sensing display panel including a display panel and a touch-sensing unit is provided. The touch-sensing unit includes a plurality of first sensing series and a plurality of second sensing series. The first sensing series are electrically insulated from one another. Each first sensing series includes first touch pads and first bridge lines. Two neighboring first touch pads disposed on a same first sensing series are electrically connected with each other through one of the first bridge lines. The second sensing series are electrically insulated from one another. Each second sensing series includes second touch pads and second bridge lines. Two neighboring second touch pads disposed on a same second sensing series are electrically connected with each other through two second bridge lines which are at least 140 micrometers apart. A touch-sensing substrate is also provided.

Touch-sensing display panel and touch-sensing substrate

A touch substrate including a substrate, a plurality of first sensing series, a plurality of second sensing series, a plurality of signal pads, a plurality of signal transmission lines, and a plurality of conductive patterns is provided. The substrate has an active region and a peripheral region located outside the active region. The first and the second sensing series are disposed on the substrate and located in the active region. The signal pads are disposed on the substrate and located at the peripheral region. The signal transmission lines are disposed on the substrate and located in the peripheral region, and connect the first sensing series and the second sensing series to the corresponding signal pads. Each signal transmission line includes a winding portion disposed adjacent to one corresponding signal pad. Each conductive pattern is disposed on one signal pad and extends above the winding portion of one signal transmission line.

A method of forming a pixel structure is provided. A pixel electrode made of transparent conductive material is formed to electrically connect a data line and a source electrode of a switching element of the adjacent sub-pixel region so that a plurality of sub-pixels can share the same data line. The number of data lines can be reduced, and the aperture ratio (AR) can be improved.

Liquid crystal display and methods of driving same

A display circuit adapted for a display device and the display device are provided. The display device comprises a gate drive device, a data drive device and the display circuit. The display circuit comprises at least one display unit which has four pixels. Each of the pixels has two sub-pixels, each of which has a transistor coupled to a pixel electrode. The transistors of the two sub-pixels of each of pixels are cascaded to electrically connect to the data drive device. The transistors of the two sub-pixels of each of pixels are electrically connected to the gate drive device, respectively, to receive signals, provided from the gate drive device, as switching signals for determining whether a data voltage provided by the data drive device is received or not.

Display circuit adapted for a display device and display device

A touch panel includes a substrate, a touch-sensing circuit, a plurality of sensing signal transmission wires, a capacitance compensation conductor, and a sensing signal readout circuit. The touch-sensing circuit is disposed on the substrate. The sensing signal transmission wires are disposed on the substrate and electrically connected to the touch-sensing circuit. The capacitance compensation conductor is disposed over the sensing signal transmission wires. Capacitance of each sensing signal transmission wire is C, and coupling capacitance between each sensing signal transmission wire and the capacitance compensation conductor is C. The sensing signal readout circuit is electrically connected to the sensing signal transmission wires. In each sensing signal transmission wire, variation of summation of Cand Cis less than a readout resolution of the sensing signal readout circuit. Another touch panel using an electrostatic discharge conductor to adjust varied capacitances of sensing signal transmission wires is also provided.

Touch panel

A pixel structure uses a pixel electrode made of transparent conductive material to electrically connect a data line and a source electrode of a switching element of the adjacent sub-pixel region so that a plurality of sub-pixels can share the same data line. Consequently, the number of data lines can be reduced, and the aperture ratio (AR) can be improved.

Pixel structure and method of making the same

A pixel array, a method for driving the same, and a display panel are provided. The pixel array includes a number of pixel sets, each of which includes a first scan line, a second scan line, a data line, a first active device electrically connected to the first scan line and the data line, a second active device electrically connected to the second scan line and the first active device, a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, a first common electrode line, and a second common electrode line. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are electrically connected to the first active device and the second active device, respectively. The first common electrode line is disposed under the first pixel electrode and electrically connected to a direct current. The second common electrode line is disposed under the second pixel electrode and electrically connected to an alternating current.

Pixel array having pixel sets with two common lines, method for driving the same and display panel

A touch panel including a substrate, a plurality of first sensing series, and a plurality of second sensing series is provided. The first sensing series and the second sensing series are disposed on the substrate. The first sensing series extend along a first direction and are electrically insulated from each other. Each of the first sensing series includes a plurality of first sensing pads and a plurality of first bridge portions connected between the first sensing pads. The second sensing series extend along a second direction and are electrically insulated from each other. Each of the second sensing series includes a plurality of second sensing pads and a plurality of second bridge portions connected between the second sensing pads. Each of the first bridge portions and one of the second bridge portions are intersected, and at least one of the second bridge portions has at least one electrostatic discharge tip.

A pixel array includes scan lines, data lines, and pixels. Each pixel arranged in the nrow includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel, and a third sub-pixel. In the first sub-pixel, a first gate and a first drain of a first transistor are connected to the (n&#x2212;1)scan line and a first pixel electrode, respectively. In the second sub-pixel, a second gate of a second transistor is connected to the nscan line, and a second drain is connected to a second pixel electrode and a first source of the first transistor. In the third sub-pixel, a third gate of a third transistor is connected to the (n+1)scan line, a third drain is connected to a third pixel electrode and a second source of the second transistor, and a third source is connected to one of the data lines.

Pixel array

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel with power consumption reduction and methods of driving same. In one embodiment, the LCD panel includes a pixel matrix, a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines. Each pair of two neighboring scanning lines defines a pixel row therebetween, and each pair of two neighboring data lines defines a pixel column therebetween. Each pixel has at least a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. Each sub-pixel has a sub-pixel electrode and a switching element electrically coupled to the sub-pixel electrode. Each pair of two neighboring scanning lines is electrically coupled to the switching elements of the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel of each pixel in the pixel row, respectively. Each data line is electrically coupled to the switching element of the first sub-pixel or the second sub-pixel of each odd pixel of one of two neighboring pixel columns associated with the data line and to the switching element of the second sub-pixel or the first sub-pixel of each even pixel of the other of the two neighboring pixel columns. The LCD panel further includes a gate driver and a data driver for generating scanning signals and data signals applied to the plurality of scanning lines and the plurality of data lines, respectively. The scanning signals are configured to turn on the switching elements connected to the plurality of scanning lines in a predefined sequence, and the data signals are configured such that any two neighboring data signals have inverted polarities.
