The present invention provides endoglucanase 1b (EG1b) variants suitable for use in saccharification reactions. The present application further provides genetically modified fungal organisms that produce EG1b variants, as well as enzyme mixtures exhibiting enhanced hydrolysis of cellulosic material to fermentable sugars, enzyme mixtures produced by the genetically modified fungal organisms, and methods for producing fermentable sugars from cellulose using such enzyme mixtures.

Endoglucanase 1B (EG1B) variants

An optical coherence tomography (OCT) image of the anterior chamber of an eye is processed to determine automatically a location in the image corresponding to Schwalbe's line. First, the method finds the location of the corneal endothelium. Then the method fits a model to the detected corneal endothelium. Then the method determines the location of Schwalbe's line based on the relationship between the detected corneal endothelium and the fitted model, such as where the detected corneal endothelium diverges most from the fitted model. The Schwalbe's line is used to obtain a numerical measure of the anterior chamber angle of the eye. The method can be used in a process for screening patients for glaucoma. In the case of patients found to be suffering from glaucoma, treatment can be performed.

Methods and systems for processing images of the anterior chamber angle of an eye

An optical communication system ( ), a method ( ) for parallel modulation of an optical spectrum and a method ( ) for parallel demodulation of the optical spectrum of modulated optical frequencies by the system ( ) are described. The optical frequencies are provided in parallel to a modulation section ( ) for modulating with data bits from a data signal source ( ). The data bits are associated with an optical modulator ( ) that controls passage of the optical spectrum at a plurality of predetermined optical frequencies based upon the data bits. The optical frequencies of the optical spectrum, modulated by the data bits, are then transmitted via a communication section ( ) to an optical receiver ( ) that is coupled to a demodulation section ( ) of the system ( ). Modulated optical frequencies are received as a modulated optical spectrum and demodulated in parallel by an optical demodulator ( ) to derive the data bits.
