Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration that indicates a first control resource set (CORESET) configured for a first category of UEs and a second CORESET configured for a second category of UEs with which the UE is associated, wherein the first CORESET has a first frequency domain resource allocation, and wherein the second CORESET overlaps in time with the first CORESET and has a second frequency domain resource allocation that is a subset of the first frequency domain resource allocation. The UE may monitor for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidate based at least in part on a determination that the PDCCH candidate is fully contained within the second frequency domain resource allocation. Physical downlink control channel coexistence for different user equipment categories

Aspects relate to validating a pre-configured uplink resource (PUR) occasion. For example, prior to using a PUR occasion for an uplink transmission, a user equipment (UE) may perform a validation procedure for the PUR occasion. A validation procedure for a PUR occasion may involve ensuring that the UE will be able to reliably transmit during the PUR occasion. A base station may send a PUR configuration to the UE that the UE can use for the validation procedure. The PUR configuration may include timing advance (TA) validation information and PUR validation information that depend on at least on capability of the UE.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may perform one or more operations for receive antenna switching. For example, a UE may receive a set of reference signals from a base station using one or more ports of the UE. Based on receiving the set of reference signals, the UE may generate channel state information (CSI) associated with a set of antenna ports. In some cases, the UE may generate CSI based on receiving a configuration indicating the set of antenna ports. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a CSI report including the CSI information associated with the set of antenna ports and an indication of the associated antenna ports. The base station may receive the CSI report and may communicate with the UE using a set of precoders associated with the set of indicated antennas ports.

Channel state feedback for receive antenna switching

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to differentiate random access response types, such that a user equipment (UE) may identify a random access response for the UE. A UE may transmit a random access message that may be associated with a first type of random access response. The base station may be configured to communicate different types of random access responses, and may configure a random access response and an associated downlink control signal to correspond to the first type of random access response. The base station may transmit the downlink control signal to the UE by configuring different demodulation reference signals, different group identifiers, different search spaces or control resource sets, or different downlink control information. The UE may determine that the random access response is of the first type and may receive the random access response based on the decoded downlink control signal.

Random access message differentiation

The present disclosure relates to procedures for random access channel (RACH) type selection and random access response (RAR) monitoring. Specifically, the present disclosure may configure a user equipment (UE) and network entity to perform RACH type selections, determine mapping ratios, perform mapping procedures for orphan PRACH resources, monitor one or multiple RAR messages within an extended RAR window, and facilitate RAR type differentiation.

Techniques for user equipment (UE) procedures for random access channel (RACH) type selection and random access response (RAR) monitoring in a wireless communication system

Wireless communications systems and methods are provided for validating a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) occasion defined for 2-step random access channel (RACH) in case of collisions. For example, the user equipment (UE) may determine whether a collision occurs between the PUSCH occasion for the 2-step RACH and any RACH occasion assigned for either 2-step RACH or 4-step RACH after receiving the RACH configuration or updates from the network. The UE may then exclude the PUSCH occasion from the resource pool for 2-step RACH when a collision occurs.

Systems and methods for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) occasion validation for 2-step random access channel (RACH)

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink cancellation indication that identifies one or more first time-domain resources during which the UE is to refrain from transmitting at least a portion of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission scheduled to be transmitted during the one or more first time-domain resources. The UE may identify one or more second time-domain resources during which the UE is to transmit the at least the portion of the PUSCH transmission or another portion of the PUSCH transmission. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on receiving the uplink cancellation indication, the at least the portion of the PUSCH transmission or the other portion of the PUSCH transmission during the one or more second time-domain resources. A method of wireless communication is disclosed herein. The method includes measuring a WB channel via FMCW channel estimation. The method includes selecting a WB SSB and a subband in a BWP based on the measured WB channel. The method includes performing a RACH procedure based on the WB SSB and the subband in the BWP. Disclosed are techniques for positioning. In an aspect, a positioning entity receives a report indicating an operation mode of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) associated with at least one base station, receives a transmission-to-reception (Tx-Rx) time difference measurement for a network node involved in a round-trip-time (RTT) positioning session with a user equipment (UE), determines a reception-to-transmission (Rx-Tx) time difference measurement for the UE, the Rx-Tx time difference measurement representing a difference between a reception time at the UE of a downlink positioning reference signal from the RIS and a transmission time from the UE of an uplink positioning reference signal towards the RIS, and calculates a distance between the UE and the RIS based, at least in part, on the Tx-Rx time difference measurement and the Rx-Tx time difference measurement.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A group of random access channel opportunities are identified over which to transmit a preamble associated with a random access channel procedure. A preamble sequence group associated with the identified group of random access channel opportunities is determined based on a repetition level associated with the preamble sequence group. At least one downlink message associated with the random access channel procedure is received based on the repetition level.
