A user equipment (UE) may transmit channel state information to a network entity, wherein the channel state information indicates a first precoding matrix index for a first antenna panel of a set of antenna panels of the network entity and a second precoding matrix index for a second antenna panel of the set of antenna panels, and wherein the second precoding matrix index is offset from the first precoding matrix index in accordance with an angle parameter associated with an angular separation between the first antenna panel and the second antenna panel relative to the UE. The UE may receive a message from the network entity according to the channel state information.

Nearfield-based channel state feedback for multi-panel codebooks

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may filter data tones (e.g., in edge subbands of an allocated frequency band) to achieve time domain windowing or shaping. Data tones of edge subbands of a configured frequency band may be filtered to shape a waveform such that it does not extend beyond symbol boundaries (e.g., does not result in emission leakage). In some examples, the transmitter may provide an indication of subband frequency domain shaping filters used to the receiver, to support demodulation on the receiver side. In some examples, the transmitter may indicate a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) comb structure (e.g., of the edge subbands) to the receiver, and the receiver may determine or estimate the filters of the subband frequency domain shaping based on the comb structure or the indication of the filters.

Spectrum shaping and subband spectrum shaping for tight spectrum confinement and transceiver structure

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table design for non-Gaussian channels. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication performed at a wireless communication device includes encoding information in accordance with a channel code rate selected from MCS data to generate encoded information. The MCS data represents a MCS table having at least one pair of entries that correspond to different modulation orders and for which a spectral efficiency associated with an entry having a higher modulation order is less than or equal to a spectral efficiency associated with an entry having a lower modulation order. The method further includes transmitting the encoded information to a second wireless communication device. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table design for non-gaussian channels

A method for wireless communication at a first wireless device and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the first wireless device communicates a first reference signal with a second wireless device based on a first frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW). The first wireless device further communicates a second reference signal with the second wireless device. The second reference signal is based on a second FMCW and has a second frequency bandwidth. The second frequency bandwidth is smaller than the first frequency bandwidth of the first reference signal, and the second reference signal has a frequency location based on the first reference signal. The first wireless device further communicates data with the second wireless device based on a channel estimation for a channel between the first wireless device and the second wireless device based on the second reference signal.

Two-step FMCW transmission for channel measurement accuracy enhancement

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first network entity may receive, from a second network entity, an encoded communication. The first network entity may decode the encoded communication to obtain a communication via a list-based decoding scheme that includes respective parity check operations for each list of decoded information of a set of one or more lists of decoded information, the parity check operations being configured to be performed prior to a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) operation for the one or more lists of decoded information. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for channel measurements for multiple uplink carriers in carrier aggregation (CA). A CA configuration may provide a first downlink carrier, a first uplink carrier, and a second uplink carrier. The second uplink carrier may be a supplemental uplink (SUL) carrier that does not have an associated downlink carrier in a same frequency band. A measurement downlink carrier may be configured and associated with the second uplink carrier, and measurements of a reference resource of the measurement downlink carrier may be used to determine transmission parameters of the second uplink carrier.

Techniques for channel measurements for multiple uplink carriers in carrier aggregation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a set of frequency domain resources allocated to the UE for communicating data over a wireless channel. The UE may receive an indication of a waveform type associated with the set of frequency domain resources. The waveform type may be based at least in part on a data type of the data, may be used for a defined amount of time, and may be one of a plurality of waveform types that are multiplexed together over different frequency domain resources within a total system bandwidth. The UE may communicate within the set of frequency domain resources according to the indicated waveform type and the data type.

In some aspects, a receiver device may receive encoded symbols, encoded using nonbinary polar coding, that include a set of information symbols, a set of partially frozen symbols, and a set of frozen symbols, where the set of information symbols and the set of partially frozen symbols indicate information bits, and where the set of information symbols indicate values in a set of values, and the set of partially frozen symbols indicate values in a proper subset of the set of values. Various aspects relate to initial physical random access channel (PRACH) power control using multiple PRACH signals, and more particularly to supporting one or more initialization and power control operations between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity prior to an association process. The initial PRACH power control may include the UE transmitting, to the network entity, a first set of PRACH signals at different respective power levels. The network entity may transmit a response message indicating a single set of PRACH signals detected by the network entity, and the UE may detect whether a first PRACH signal, of the first set of PRACH signals, is included in the single set of PRACH signals to select a power level associated with the first PRACH signal for transmitting association messages.

An apparatus for wireless communications includes at least one processor coupled with a memory and comprising encoder circuitry configured to encode a set of information bits using a systematic code to generate an encoded bit stream with information bits and parity bits, and bit ordering circuitry configured to re-order bits in the encoded bit stream to distribute the information bits and the parity bits. The apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit the re-ordered bits in accordance with a radio technology via one or more antenna elements situated proximate the receiver.

Communication techniques with self-decodable redundancy versions (RVs) using systematic codes

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques generally provide for spatially coupled multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) signaling for a single codeword across multiple layers. A transmitting device may transmit, via multiple time-frequency resources using multiple spatial layers, a set of code blocks associated with a codeword. At a first time-frequency resource, each code block of a first subset of the set of code blocks may be mapped to a respective transmission layer, and at a second time-frequency resource, each code block of a second subset of the set of code blocks may be mapped to a respective transmission layer, where the second set of code blocks is staggered from the first set of code blocks. By staggering code blocks across multiple time-frequency resources, a receiving wireless device may cancel out interference of one or more previously decoded code blocks.

Techniques for spatially coupled multiple-input multiple-output signaling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for a transmitter (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or base station) and receiver (e.g., a UE or base station) to transmit and receive data packets that are encoded according to an outer coding technique. The outer coding technique may provide for data bits and parity bits to be included in a single physical layer transmission. In some cases, data packets (e.g., data bits) may be segmented into multiple subpackets, and coding may be performed across different subpackets of different data packets (e.g., in a diagonal coding pattern). In some examples, each transmission in the physical layer may contain both data subpackets and parity subpackets, which may balance an input and an output load of a buffer (e.g., a layer two (L2) decoding buffer at the receiver) during decoding.

A network entity configures a synchronization signal block (SSB) using SSB resources that convey a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS), and a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) within an SSB resource area of a resource grid bounded in time by a first configured integer number of time units and bounded in frequency by a second configured integer number of physical channels. A product of the first configured integer number and the second configured integer number is a predetermined constant value, each symbol of the SSB has an equal number of resource elements (REs), and all REs in the each symbol of the SSB, except REs within a frequency guard band between any two of the PSS, the SSS, and the PBCH in the each symbol of the SSB, have non-zero values. A user equipment receives the SSB in the SSB resources as a beamformed SSB.
