Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a sensing configuration associated with a sensing mode, the sensing configuration indicating one or more parameter values that the UE is to use to perform sensing of objects within a detectable range of the UE, and the sensing configurating further indicating a format for providing a sensing report according to the sensing mode. The UE may receive one or more sensing waveforms based at least in part on the sensing configuration. The UE may transmit, to the base station according to the sensing mode, a sensing report indicating information associated with the one or more sensing waveforms.

Sensing mode configuration for wireless sensing

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may determine wide beam parameters for beamformed communications with a base station based on an identified narrow beam. A UE may receive a reference signal from a base station and identify a narrow beam based on measurements of the received reference signal. Based on the identified narrow beam, the UE may determine a set of wide beam parameters for a wide beam that is to be used for communications between the UE and the base station. The wide beam may have a beam direction that corresponds to a direction of the identified narrow beam, and may have a beam width that is determined as a multiple of a beam width of the identified narrow beam (e.g., x times the beam width of the narrow beam).

Channel state information reporting techniques for wide beams

Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication including mode division multiplexing of data and reference signals using different orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes. An OAM transmitter may transmit a reference signal (RS) configuration information to an OAM receiver that indicates radio resources for a plurality of OAM modes. The OAM transmitter may further transmit data on a first OAM mode of the plurality of OAM modes using first radio resources of the radio resources indicated by the RS configuration information. The OAM transmitter may further transmit a reference signal on a second OAM mode of the plurality of OAM modes using the first radio resources of the radio resources indicated by the RS configuration information. The OAM receiver may receive the data on the first OAM mode and the reference signal on the second OAM mode. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Mode division multiplex for data and reference signals in orbital angular momentum communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a device may select antenna elements from a planar array to transmit or receive an orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam. The device may determine a first area (e.g., a first ring area) based on an angular direction over which the device can communicate an OAM beam with a second device and may determine a second area (e.g., a second ring area) on the planar array based on projecting the first area on the planar array. The device may select a set of antenna elements from the planar array that are located within the second area. The device may determine a complex-valued weight for each antenna element of the selected set of antenna elements and may transmit or receive an OAM beam to or from the second device via the set of antenna elements according to the angular direction.

Generating and steering orbital angular momentum beams

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may adjust resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources) used to transmit repetitions of uplink control information (UCI) over a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The UE may adjust two parameters corresponding to different scales (e.g., levels) of adjustment, where a first parameter corresponds to a number of repetitions of a PUCCH resource and a second parameter corresponds to a number of slots within each PUCCH repetition. The UE may adjust the resources based on the first parameter, the second parameter, a size of UCI, a maximum coding rate, or some combination thereof, such that the PUCCH resources carrying UCI satisfy the maximum code rate and UCI size.

Multi-level time-domain scalable uplink channel resources

Aspects of the disclosure relate to defining a bandwidth part (BWP) within an operating bandwidth, and sub-BWPs within the BWP, where the sub-BWPs can be used for scheduling frequency-hopping transmissions. As one example, a base station may schedule frequency-hopping transmissions using two or more sub-BWPs. The base station may configure a portion of an operating bandwidth to serve as a BWP used for communicating with a UE over the wireless communication network, define two or more sub-BWPs at different frequency locations within the BWP, each sub-BWP including resource blocks provided in the BWP, and provide a scheduling gap when a frequency hop is scheduled between two or more sub-BWPs at the UE, wherein the scheduling gap accommodates radio frequency retuning at the UE.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a first message that indicates a preferred beam and a multicast session. An example method of wireless communication by a UE includes receiving, from a base station, a report configuration message triggering a channel state feedback procedure, the UE and the base station operating in a multiple transmission and reception point (multiple-TRP) communication mode, the report configuration message requesting a multiple-TRP transmission value including at least one of a quantity of layer indicator (LI) values and a strongest TRP indicator (STI) value. The example method also includes generating channel state information (CSI) information based on the receiving of the report configuration message, the CSI information including the multiple-TRP transmission value. The example method also includes transmitting, to the base station, a report including the generated CSI information.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a wireless user equipment (UE) configured to receive a downlink in a network configured for full duplex communication. The UE receives from the network an indication of a maximum rank of an uplink from an interfering, aggressor UE. The UE measures interference of a signal from the aggressor UE, and based on the measurement, determines one or more rank values for the aggressor UE, less than or equal to the maximum rank. The UE may further determine one or more channel parameters for downlink transmissions the UE receives, corresponding to the determined rank values. The UE then transmits a channel state information (CSI) report that includes an indication of at least one of the one or more rank values for the aggressor UE. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a scheduling request to a base station using the dedicated uplink resources. The UE may transmit the scheduling request to indicate that a group of UEs requests uplink resources for an uplink data transmission. As a result, the UE may receive downlink control information from a base station which includes corresponding uplink resources allocated to the UE based on the scheduling request. The UE may use the allocated uplink resources to transmit uplink data to the base station.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability report to a base station indicating a triggering offset. The base station may configure the UE with one or more channel state information (CSI) measurement resources and send downlink control information (DCI) that triggers an aperiodic CSI report for some of the CSI measurement resources. The UE may report CSI by measuring the CSI resources after the triggering offset. In some cases, CSI reporting related to the different codebook types (e. g., Type I, Type II) may be modified, where after identifying a type of codebook and determining which type of codebook to process (e. g., based on a number of CSI processing units), the UE may identify a priority associated with different CSI reports.
