The present application provides an implantation system and method for implanting a flexible neural electrode. The implantation system comprises a flexible neural electrode and an auxiliary implantation assembly. The flexible neural electrode is provided with an auxiliary implantation part. The auxiliary implantation assembly comprises a cannula assembly and a guide wire, the cannula assembly comprises an inner cannula and an outer cannula, the guide wire has a retracted state in which it is retracted within the inner cannula and an extended state in which it penetrates out of a distal end of the inner cannula, and an extended end of the guide wire is connected to the auxiliary implantation part. Wherein, when the guide wire is in the retracted state, the flexible neural electrode is in a curled state in which it is curled between the inner cannula and the outer cannula; when the guide wire is in the extended state, the flexible neural electrode moves to an intended target area along with the guide wire and unfolds, so as to transition from the curled state to an unfolded state. The above structure can achieve the objective of implantation through a small slit on the target object, and can ensure precise implantation and flat adherence of flexible neural electrodes on the surface of the implant by strategy of the auxiliary implantation assemblies.

Implantation system and method for implanting flexible neural electrode

An implantable flexible electrode includes an implantation assembly and a proximal contact part. The implantation assembly is made of a flexible material, and includes an auxiliary implantation part, a microelectrode part, a macroelectrode part, and a lead part electrically connected to the microelectrode part and the macroelectrode part, a macroelectrode site of the macroelectrode part is used to record local field potential information after implantation, a microelectrode site of the microelectrode part is used to record single-unit action potential information, and the dimension of an end of the microelectrode part distal to the macroelectrode part is smaller than the dimension of an end of the microelectrode part proximal to the macroelectrode part. The proximal contact part is electrically connected to the lead part. The implantable flexible electrode enables simultaneous recording of local field potential information and single-unit action potential information to provide comprehensive information about neural activity.

Implantable flexible electrode, device, and kit

The present application provides an auxiliary implantation assembly, kit and system for flexible neural electrode, comprising: a cannula having a longitudinal cavity, and a tube wall at the distal end of the cannula configured to form a contact area larger than a first threshold to realize the pressing and limiting against the distal part in a case where the cannula is fixed and contacts the distal part of the flexible neural electrode; and a traction member extending in the longitudinal direction, the distal end of which is formed with a traction part and is configured to form a first physical connection mechanism with the proximal end of the cannula, the first physical connection mechanism is switchable between a locked state and an unlocked state by means of the proximal operation of the traction member.

Auxiliary implantation assembly, kit, and system for flexible neural electrodes

Disclosed are an implantable flexible neural microelectrode comb, and a preparation method and implantation method therefor. The flexible neural microelectrode comb is mainly composed of a flexible substrate layer (), a flexible insulation layer (), and a metal connection wire layer () arranged between the flexible substrate layer () and the flexible insulation layer (); the flexible neural microelectrode comb comprises a filament structure (), a mesh structure (), a plane structure () and a bonding pad area () connected in sequence; electrode sites () are arranged on the filament structure (); bonding pads are arranged on the bonding pad area (); the metal connection wire layer () is composed of metal connection wires connecting the electrode sites () and the bonding pads; and the flexible insulation layer () is not arranged on the surfaces of the electrode sites () and the bonding pads. The prepared flexible neural microelectrode comb has a structure gradually changing from a filament to a mesh to a plane structure, thus improving mechanical stability during a deformation process. The mechanical properties of the implantable flexible neural microelectrode comb match brain tissue, the implantation footprint is small, an inflammatory response of the brain is avoided, and electrophysiological signals in the brain can be stably tracked and measured in a multi-site manner for a long time.
