Techniques are disclosed herein for file sharing using remote applications. One embodiment provides a computer-implemented method that includes receiving, at a computing device, a selection of a reference for accessing the file, where the reference includes a first identifier specifying the file stored on a host server remotely located with respect to the computing device and a second identifier specifying an application that is running on the host server and that is configured to open files of a same type as the file. The method further includes establishing a remote connection to the application specified by the second identifier, by connecting to the host server and causing the application to be launched on the host server. In addition, the method includes causing the application to open the file specified by the first identifier and the user interface of the application to be remoted to the computing device.

File sharing using remote applications

A large aperture uniform-amplification laser module including a longer, larger diameter crystal bar is disclosed. The laser module includes a ring-shaped pump bar structure, a crystal bar, a glass sleeve, and a structural component. The pump bar structure includes pump blocks composed of a bar, a cooling heat sink, and a cooling pipe. The bar is connected with the heat sink, and a cooling water channel is provided inside of the cooling heat sink. Heat sinks are provided with outlet pipes and an inlet pipes to communicate with water channels, which are connected in series through the cooling pipes to form a ring shape. The bar is close to a center axis of the ring-shaped pump bar structure. The crystal bar is provided in the glass sleeve. A plurality of the ring-shaped pump bar structures are sleeved on the glass sleeve along the length of the glass sleeve.

Image scanning and encoding technologies can be utilized to authenticate devices to virtual desktops and to transfer virtual desktop sessions between devices. One device (e.g., PC or laptop) may encode certain information into an image that is displayed on a display screen, while another mobile device equipped with a digital camera (e.g., mobile phone or tablet) can be used to scan the image on the display screen. Once the image is scanned, it can be decoded by the mobile device to get the information encoded in the image (e.g., device ID, session ID, etc.). The information obtained from the image can be used to authenticate a device or to transfer a virtual desktop session between the devices.

A method of communication between a transmitter and a receiver over a channel is provided. The transmitter is capable of transmitting packets with multiple data rates, each of which adapts to a respective channel condition with regards to the performance of the communication. The method comprises the steps of at the level of the transmitter: upon detection of a disappearance of deterioration of the channel condition, transmitting packets with a data rate selected from a group of stable data rates that are stably used before the disappearance of the deterioration but larger than the last data rate before disappearance of the deterioration.

The invention discloses a data organization method for a change oriented spreadsheet application. In one embodiment, the valid updates to cells and the update times are stored with the cell positions as the primary index, and the valid updates to the same cell are arranged in the order of time. In another embodiment, the valid updates to cells are stored with the update time points of the valid updates of the cells as the primary index, and all the valid updates at the same valid update time point are arranged into an update table, the update table having the same cell structure as the spreadsheet file. In yet another embodiment, data structures organized in both manners are maintained at the same time.

The present invention relates a bidirectional signal transmission apparatus and method, wherein said apparatus comprises a processor unit connected in signal communication with an Ethernet, an RF modulation/demodulation unit, and an RF frequency conversion unit connected in signal communication with a coaxial cable network. The data signal input from the Ethernet is modulated into standard IEEE802.11 signal by means of said signal processing unit and RF modulation/demodulation unit, and then down-converted from 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz standard IEEE802.11 signal to a range of 500 MHz to 2000 MHz, and preferably to a range of 900 MHz to 1200 MHz. The bidirectional transmission apparatus further includes a frequency band selector for selecting different frequency bands so as to broaden the bandwidth of the signal and a real broad band data transmission is accomplished.
