A motion conversion mechanism of a brake device includes a rotation member and a linear motion member that linearly moves accompanying the rotation of the rotation member. The rotation member is rotationally driven through a third gear. A male screw and a female screw mesh with each other on the side opposite to the brake shoe of the third gear, where one end of an actuating member receives a force for actuating the brake shoe from the linear motion member, and the other end actuates the brake shoe. The guide member that guides the actuating member is made of a material different from that of the rotation member, and slidably guides the actuating member in the axial direction.

Brake device

At the connection region (connection mechanism of a parking lever and an electric actuator, a first connection pin is fitted in the end of a shaft member, is orthogonal to the shaft member, and is disposed parallel to the support shaft of the parking lever. A second connection pin is fitted in the swinging end of the parking lever and is parallel to the first connection pin. A connection member is rotatable with respect to the end of the shaft member in the circumferential direction of the first connection pin at a first hole where the connection member is fitted on the first connection pin, is rotatable with respect to the parking lever in the circumferential direction of the second connection pin at a second hole where the connection member is fitted on the second connection pin, and connects the two pins.

Electric parking brake device

Provided is an electric parking brake device in which a parking lever is driven by an electric actuator. The electric actuator includes: an electric motor which can be rotationally driven in a normal/reverse direction and of which an operation is controlled by a motor control unit in accordance with rotational loads; a converting mechanism which can convert a rotational movement into a linear movement and which can move the parking lever from a returning position to an operating position in accordance with normal rotation of the electric motor and which can move the parking lever from the operating position to the returning position in accordance with reverse rotation of the electric motor; and a load applying mechanism (a stopper, a friction material) which drives components of the converting mechanism and which applies predetermined rotational loads to the electric motor, in a state where the parking lever is moved from the operating position to the returning position in accordance with reverse rotation of the electric motor.

In the interior of a brake drum, the arrangement space in the rotational axis direction of the brake drum is spacious in comparison with that in the direction orthogonal to the rotational axis direction in which an anchor portion, hub components on the vehicle body side and the like are arranged. An electric parking brake device is provided with the anchor portion that supports respective one ends of brake shoes. A parking lever is pivotally moved by a drive unit operated by an electric motor for pushing the brake shoes toward the brake drum. The anchor portion and the drive unit are arranged to be piled up in the rotational axis direction of the brake drum which is spacious in comparison with the direction orthogonal to the rotational axis direction.

An electric brake device comprises a caliper holding braking members and having an electric motor attached thereto, a reduction mechanism for transmitting an input rotation of one input element thereof from the electric motor to two output elements thereof at reduced speeds, a rotation-linear motion converting mechanism for converting the rotation of one of the output elements into a linear motion of one of the braking members, and a thrust force support member connected to the other output element and screw-engaged with the caliper, wherein the rotation-linear motion converting mechanism is supported by the thrust force support member to be movable together in a thrust direction and is provided with rotation limiting portions for limiting the rotation in a reverse direction of the one output element to a predetermined range, and wherein the thrust force support member is set to be greater in resistance to operation than the rotation-linear motion converting mechanism.
