The apparatus for controlling tip clearance includes a casing surrounding the turbine blade, a cooling plate installed in a groove and formed in a circumferential direction in the casing, the cooling plate being contracted by cold air supplied thereto, an upper plate mounted radially outside the cooling plate in the groove and having a plurality of cold air holes formed therein, a cylinder extending radially from an inner peripheral surface of the upper plate and having a plurality of cooling holes formed on a side thereof, and a ring segment mounted radially inside the cooling plate.

Disclosed is a turbine apparatus. The turbine apparatus includes s stator, a rotor rotatably installed in the stator, and a sealing mechanism provided to prevent a working fluid from leaking between the stator and the rotor. The sealing mechanism is configured such that when the rotor is stopped, the sealing mechanism is brought into contact with the rotor, and when the rotor is rotated, the sealing mechanism is formed to be spaced from the rotor by a predetermined gap.

Disclosed herein is a secondary battery having a mechanical connection sensor, as a safety device, fixed to the outer surface of a prismatic or pouch-shaped battery cell while the mechanical connection sensor is set to OFF. The mechanical connection sensor is connected in series with a resistor having a predetermined resistance value and with a cathode and an anode of the battery cell. When the battery cell swells to a critical value or more due to the abnormal operation of the battery cell, the mechanical connection sensor is turned ON, and therefore, the mechanical connection sensor conducts with the result that the electrical energy of the battery cell is consumed at the resistor. In the secondary battery having the safety device according to the present invention, when the battery swells due to the abnormal response of the battery, energy accumulated in the battery is forcibly consumed, unlike a conventional battery that merely intercepts the current. As a result, the continuous occurrence of the abnormal response is fundamentally prevented, and therefore, more rapid process is possible with excellent pressure sensitivity. Consequently, the safety of the battery is improved.

Disclosed herein are an equal distribution type connecting member for connecting two or more devices to an external circuit, the connection member including a first connection circuit connected to a connection point of the external circuit, and second connection circuits sequentially connected to the first connection circuit, the second connection circuits being constructed in a structure in which the sectional areas of the second connection circuits are increased and/or the lengths of the second connection circuits are decreased with the increase of the connection distance between the connection point of the external circuit and connection points of the devices, thereby equalizing internal resistances between the connection point of the external circuit and the connection points of the devices, and a middle- or large-sized battery pack including the same. The equal distribution type connecting member according to the present invention is capable of reducing the difference in internal resistances of the circuits, thereby increasing the overall life span of the battery pack. Also, the uniform charging and discharging efficiency of battery modules or battery cells is acquired, and therefore, it is possible to manufacture battery modules having optimized performance and a middle- or large-sized battery pack including the same.

Disclosed herein is a middle- or large-sized battery pack including a module assembly constructed in a structure in which a plurality of battery modules, each of which includes a plurality of battery cells or unit modules mounted in a module case while the battery cells or unit modules are connected in series to each other, are arranged such that the battery modules are disposed in contact with each other in the lateral direction, and a coolant flow channel is vertically formed, a plurality of support members for supporting opposite sides and the bottom of the module assembly and maintaining the arrangement state of the module assembly, and a pack housing for surrounding the module assembly and the support members, wherein the battery pack is constructed in a cooling structure in which a coolant is introduced through one side upper end (or lower end) of the module assembly along a hermetically sealed space defined by the support members, flows vertically through the module assembly, and is discharged through the other side lower end (or upper end) of the battery assembly.

Disclosed herein are a method of controlling the operation of battery modules in a battery system, which includes two or more battery modules or battery module assemblies, wherein the battery system further includes energy consuming loads for consuming charged energy, and the method includes, when a specific battery module or a specific battery module assembly is abnormally operated, connecting the abnormally operated battery module or the abnormally operated battery module assembly to the corresponding energy consuming load to forcibly discharge the charged energy, and a battery system that is capable of performing the battery system control method.

Disclosed herein is a process for preparation of a secondary battery module.
