A method, apparatus and computer product for scheduling in a cellular system using a wired RS is disclosed. In one aspect, a BS collects CQIs of all MSs within a cell, calculates a transmittable data amount for each of the MSs according to the CQI, selects an MS having a highest PF metric, and allocates resources to the selected MS.

A method for scheduling in a cellular system using a relay station (RS) through an inter-antenna cooperative transmission technology based on pre-cooperation information according to each channel in a cellular system using a cable RS in order to increase the throughput of the entire system. The steps include classifying all mobile stations (MSs) in a corresponding cell based into Cooperative Transmission (CT) MSs for cooperative transmission and Single Transmission (ST) MSs for to each channel; mapping channel-by-channel channel capacities of the CT MSs and ST MSs classified according to each channel, selecting a channel with a highest priority, and receiving a request message from a corresponding MS according to whether the capacity of the selected channel satisfies preset CT criteria and selecting an MS having a metric value of a highest priority according to a corresponding scheduling algorithm, from among multiple requesting MSs.

Disclosed is a signal combining apparatus and a resource allocation method using the same in a cellular system using distributed antennas. A method, apparatus and system for increasing cell capacity through optional signal combining between Relay Stations (RSs) in a cellular system using wired RSs is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a Base Station (BS), an average Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I) value of transmission signals from Mobile Stations (MSs) located inside each coverage area, being fed back from the RSs or the MSs in its corresponding cell; classifying the MSs into two groups according to the C/I value; performing resource allocation satisfying a minimum data rate from a corresponding RS, for MSs belonging to a group having a C/I value greater than a preset threshold &#x393; among the classified groups; performing resource allocation by applying an optional signal combining scheme taking into account two RSs having a highest C/I value, for MSs belonging to a group having a C/I value below the threshold among the classified groups; and allocating all unallocated subchannels of each individual RS in an order of an MS having a high C/I value among MSs of a corresponding RS until there is no more unallocated subchannel of each RS.

A method of controlling power in a Base Station (BS) of a cellular system using wired Relay Stations (RSs) includes the RSs and the BS individually performing scheduling of packets to be transmitted to Mobile Stations (MSs) in respective areas of coverage, the BS increasing a difference between a sum of signals to be transmitted and a sum of interference signals according to a scheduling result, guaranteeing a minimum amount of data to be received by each MS, and calculating a power allocation solution of each MS, which satisfies a condition that the power allocation solution is in a range of allocatable power, which was pre-set by each of the RSs and the BS, and the RSs and the BS performing sub-channel allocation and power allocation according to the power allocation solution satisfying the condition.
