The stage includes a discharging outlet through which gas between the acceptor substrate and the donor film is discharged to the outside. A donor substrate may include a base substrate, a light-to-heat conversion layer, a transfer layer, and a rib structure. The light-to-heat conversion layer may be on the base substrate. The transfer layer may be on the light-to-heat conversion layer. The rib structure is on the transfer layer. The rib structure may include a plurality of tubes spaced apart from one another. In a laser induced thermal imaging process, the donor substrate including the rib structure may be easily removed from a display substrate without damage, thereby to form an organic layer pattern regularly on the display substrate.

A donor film that is easily handled in a process without adding a separate member (such as a tray) when an organic thin film is formed on a substrate by using a thermal transfer method is disclosed. In addition, a method of manufacturing the donor film and a method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting device using the donor film are disclosed. The donor film includes: a base film; a light-to-heat conversion (LTHC) layer on the base film; an interlayer on the LTHC layer and that includes a transfer region and a first protrusion corresponding to at least one edge of the LTHC layer; and a transfer layer on the interlayer and including an organic light-emitting material. A rigidity of the first protrusion is higher than a rigidity of the transfer region.

Donor film for thermal transfer, method of manufacturing the same, and method of manufacturing organic light-emitting device using the donor film

An organic layer of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device is formed by transferring a transfer layer of a donor film to aligned pixel openings in a pixel defining region of the OLED display device such that the organic layer is formed in the pixel openings. Each aligned pixel opening has a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides, and the transferring of the transfer layer is performed by applying tensile force to the donor film in a direction perpendicular to the short sides of the pixel openings.

Method of fabricating organic light emitting diode display device

A laser patterning apparatus for handling a donor film and improving compression uniformity between the donor film and an acceptor substrate is provided. The laser patterning apparatus includes: a stage that supports an acceptor substrate; a shielding mask that is placed on the acceptor substrate to form a pattern and is attached to a donor film on one surface thereof; a laser gun that is disposed at an upper part of the stage to radiate laser light to a portion of the donor film through the pattern of the shielding mask; a pressing member that corresponds to a portion of the shielding mask; and an actuator that is connected to one side of the pressing member to press the pressing member.
