There is provided a manufacturing method of an electrode assembly, the method including blanking a first electrode from a first base including a first coated region and a first uncoated region, blanking a second electrode from a second base including a second coated region and a second uncoated region, laminating a separator on the second electrode, cutting the laminated second electrode with the separator, and stacking the laminated second electrode and the first electrode.

Electrode assembly, manufacturing method thereof, and rechargeable battery

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween, a center pin at a center of the electrode assembly, the center pin including a bonding portion electrically coupled to the first electrode, and a terminal portion connected to one end of the bonding portion, a case housing the electrode assembly, and a gasket insulating between the center pin and the case, the gasket enclosing an edge of the terminal portion of the center pin.

Rechargeable battery

A rechargeable battery module that effectively imparts a curvature using a rechargeable battery formed as a pin-shaped rechargeable battery with a very small diameter is provided. The rechargeable battery module includes a plurality of rechargeable batteries arranged in parallel, wherein each rechargeable battery comprises a case and terminals that extend from respective ends of the case along a length direction of the case. The module includes a plurality of caps, wherein each cap is coupled to an end of a rechargeable battery of the plurality of rechargeable batteries and is electrically connected to one of the terminals of the rechargeable battery. The module also includes a connector on each cap connecting adjacent caps coupled to corresponding rechargeable batteries. The adjacent caps are moveable relative to the connector such that a curvature between the corresponding rechargeable batteries changes in a direction crossing the length direction.

A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator, the first and second electrodes being located on either side of the separator and wound together; a center pin located within the electrode assembly and electrically connected to an uncoated region of the first electrode; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and electrically connected to an uncoated region of the second electrode; a terminal extending to the outside of the case from the center pin; and a gasket located between the terminal and an opening of the case and sealing the opening.

Pin-type rechargeable battery

A rechargeable battery according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes an electrode assembly including: a first electrode plate including first and second coated regions where an active material layer is formed and a first uncoated region positioned between the first and second coated regions and not formed with the active material layer and folded at the first uncoated region; a second electrode plate inserted between the first electrode plate; and a first separator inserted between the first and second electrode plates, and a first electrode tab bonded to the first uncoated region, wherein the first electrode plate, the second electrode plate, and the first separator are wound after they are stacked.

Rechargeable battery having electrode tap and manufacturing method thereof

Disclosed is a pin-type rechargeable battery having a micro diameter for increasing an energy density at a preset volume. The rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly formed by winding a second electrode around an external circumference of a first electrode disposed at a center thereof by interposing a separator; a case to receive the electrode assembly and an electrolyte solution therein and electrically connected to the second electrode; a terminal electrically connected to the first electrode and drawn outside of the case; and a gasket disposed between the terminal and an opening of the case to close the opening of the case.

A rechargeable battery includes a wound electrode assembly having first and second electrodes at opposite surfaces of a separator; a first case accommodating a first side of the electrode assembly and being coupled to the first electrode; a second case accommodating a second side of the electrode assembly and coupled to the second electrode; and a gasket engaged by the electrode assembly and combined at the first and second openings to seal the first and second openings.

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly having first and second electrodes at opposite sides of a separator and wound about an axis; a first terminal coupled to the first electrode through a first tab; a second terminal coupled to the second electrode through a second tab; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and including first and second openings at its opposite ends; a first gasket between the first terminal and the first opening, the first gasket sealing the first opening and allowing the first terminal to protrude outside of the case; and a second gasket between the second terminal and the second opening, the second gasket sealing the second opening and allowing the second terminal to protrude outside of the case. The case may further include a fixing portion at its inner side that protrudes toward the electrode assembly.
