A linear compressor which can perform the natural cooling capacity modulation, even if a capacitor connected to a motor is removed. The linear compressor includes a fixed member having a compression space therein, a movable member linearly reciprocated in the fixed member to compress a refrigerant sucked into the compression space, and one or more springs provided to elastically support the movable member in the motion direction of the movable member. The compressor also includes a motor connected to the movable member to linearly reciprocate the movable member in the axial direction, and a motor control unit performing the cooling capacity modulation by the reciprocation of the movable member according to a load, by controlling an AC voltage applied to the motor so that a stroke of the movable member can be proportional to the magnitude of the AC voltage applied to the motor.

Linear compressor

A linear compressor is provided that provides a greater power by changing a frequency at high load. The linear compressor includes a mechanical device having a fixed member, a movable member linearly reciprocated in the fixed member, one or more springs provided to elastically support the movable member, and a motor connected to the movable member, and an electric controller having a rectifier, an inverter that receives a DC voltage from the rectifier, converts the DC voltage to an AC voltage, and supplies the AC voltage to the motor, a voltage sensor that senses the DC voltage, a current sensor that senses a current, and a controller that calculates a required voltage for the motor, generates a control signal, and applies the control signal to the inverter, if the required voltage is greater than the DC voltage of the voltage sensor.

Linear compressor having a controller and method for controlling a linear compressor

A linear compressor for adjusting a variable rate of a cooling capacity is provided. The linear compressor may include a fixed member having a compression space formed therein, a movable member linearly reciprocated in the fixed member to compress a refrigerant drawn into the compression space, one or more springs provided to elastically support the movable member in the motion direction of the movable member, a motor unit including a motor connected to the movable member to linearly reciprocate the movable member in the axial direction and a capacitor connected in series to the motor, and a motor control unit controlling an AC voltage applied to the motor to adjust a variable rate of a cooling capacity by the reciprocation of the movable member.

The present invention discloses a linear compressor which makes it possible to precisely operate a voltage using a current without having a high-capacity capacitor connected in series to a motor. The linear compressor comprises a mechanical unit including a fixed member having a compression space therein, a movable member linearly reciprocated in the fixed member to compress a refrigerant sucked into the compression space, one or more springs provided to elastically support the movable member in the motion direction of the movable member, and a motor connected to the movable member to linearly reciprocate the movable member in the axial direction, and an electric control unit including a rectification unit receiving AC power and outputting a DC voltage, an inverter unit receiving the DC voltage, converting the DC voltage to an AC voltage according to a control signal, and supplying the AC voltage to the motor, a current sensing unit sensing a current flowing between the motor and the inverter unit, an integrator circuit unit integrating a voltage corresponding to the current from the current sensing unit, and a control unit receiving an integrated value from the integrator circuit unit and controlling the AC voltage applied to the motor to permit the reciprocation of the movable member.

A method for controlling an automatic dryer is disclosed, which can determine a dryness level based on information relating the laundry by an initial average value of a sensing means, to thereby achieve stability and reliability in a drying process, the method comprising sensing whether the amount of laundry is small or large by using an average output value in a preset time period of an initial drying stage; detecting a saturation voltage generating point of the sensor; and performing a drying cycle based on each dryness level by using information for the amount of laundry and the saturation voltage generating point.

Automatic dryer and method for controlling the same

Method for controlling a drying course of a laundry dryer including the steps of (a) starting a drying course by using high temperature drying air, and sensing dryness of a drying object periodically, (b) determining a dryness saturation time point at which the dryness sensed thus exceeds a preset reference value Q, (c) determining a load of the drying object according to the drying saturation time point T_sat, and (d) varying a drying algorithm depending on the load of the drying object determined thus, whereby preventing a small amount of laundry from sticking to a drum in a drying course by varying a control algorithm of the drying motor in a case an amount of the drying object is determined to be small accurately with reference to a saturation time point of an electrode sensor.

Laundry dryer and method for controlling drying course of the same

A drum washing machine and a clothes dryer equipped with a thermoelectric module are disclosed. The thermoelectric module includes a heat absorption side and a heat dissipation side which absorbs and dissipates heat at a junction between two dissimilar metals depending on direction of current flow through the junction. The heat absorption side is disposed at a hot air flowing passage. Accordingly, the drying apparatus can increase energy efficiency with minor structural modification and becomes environmentally friendly unlike a conventional drying apparatus using a heat pump.
